About ten years ago, there was serious buzz in the natural food community about a new product line called Hail Merry Miracle Tarts. Those raw, creamy, dairy-free desserts had a healthier spin that hit the sweet spot between decadence and nutrition. And here we are, a decade later, and those same plant-based treats are a mainstay in many markets. They dropped the “miracle” and now just call them Hail Merry Tarts, but they still come in various flavors and in smaller cups. Since the ingredients are the same for the tarts and the cups – they’re just sized differently – I’m including them together in this post.
Even if you aren’t a raw foodist (I’m a proud member of the hot food-loving club), raw desserts are typically amazing, and Hail Merry Tarts are no exception. They have an almond flour-based crust, which is filled to the brim with a sweet, rich coconut buttery filling. They appear petite in size, but are so dense that I found it fairly easy to stick to just one or even to split one with my husband. In fact, we liked cutting Hail Merry Tarts into mini slices!
Hail Merry Tarts & Cups are Healthy Raw Desserts in Decadent Flavors
Since we have tried a few flavors of Hail Merry Tarts and Cups, I’ve included our tasting notes with the respective flavors. But please do leave your own unbiased rating and review below if you’ve purchased any of the following varieties. It helps others make a more informed purchasing decision.
Dark Chocolate (Tart & Cups)
I love chocolate fudge, therefore I loved this tart. The filling was very rich and dense with a flavor and texture that reminded me of a cross between chocolate pudding and mom’s best holiday fudge. In contrast to the dark chocolaty filling, the crust possessed an almost savory flavor.

Chocolate Mint (Tart & Cups)
This was easily my favorite of the chocolate Hail Merry Tarts. It was almost identical to the original Chocolate version, but with a perfectly in-tune mint addition. The flavor was seamless. If you love the combination of chocolate and mint, then I recommend trying this tart.
Ingredients: organic maple syrup, dark cocoa, organic virgin coconut oil, almond flour, organic coconut flour, sea salt, organic peppermint flavor oil. Contains: almonds & coconut.

Chocolate Almond Butter (Tart & Cups)
Slice this Hail Merry Tart open and you will be greeted with cute Reese’s style wedges. However, they taste far healthier than those of the traditional peanut butter chocolate cups. The top layer is that chocolate fudge I keep raving about, the middle is a dense almond butter that seemed to be unsweetened, and the base is their signature cocoa almond crust. Truthfully, this one was more of a snack, since the base crust and the almond butter were both on the savory side.

Meyer Lemon (Tart & Cups)
Holy lemon! This tart was shocking, but out-of-this-world delicious. Honestly, I could have eaten the crust alone, it was so amazing! It was rich with coconut, and it possessed a sweeter and more buttery flavor than the Hail Merry chocolate crusts. The lemon filling was firm, but more pudding-like than the others, and the tart wasn’t filled quite as full. Which turned out to be a good thing since the sweet lemon flavor packs a powerful tart punch. Even though I’m not a huge fan of lemon, I couldn’t help but fall head over heels for this unique treat.

Delicious
Billed as a raw, vegan, gluten-free and healthy snack but well into the decadent dessert category, it’s no surprise that these luxurious 2-serving tarts are award winners. The Meyer Lemon was (to our surprise) the runaway favorite, but the Chocolate Mint was a post-meal love, and all of the tarts were devoured within minutes of breaking the package seal.

I am in Heaven!
Plus, thanka for the postion size controle.
Actually, the dark chocolate almond butter tart is by far the best desert I have had since I’ve changed to a gluten free lifestyle and quite possiblly one of the best desserts I’ve had in general overall. If you are a chocolate lover, this one will knock your socks off.
Just purchased the chocolate-almond butter Hail Merry tart at my local grocery store. It was a serendipitous find 🙂 Thank you for the thorough review, as always! Looking forward to trying the tart.
Nice! I hope you enjoy it Liz.
