Dairy Faces Lawsuits on Organic Milk Claims


Two lawsuits have now been filed against Boulder, Colorado-based Aurora Organic Dairy Corporation, one of the nation's largest organic milk producers. The lawsuits filed in St. Louis and Denver represent food consumers in 27 states claim that Aurora Organic Dairy is misleading customers by selling milk under the certified organic label even though the dairy does not meet federal organic standards.  Allegations of consumer fraud, negligence, and unjust enrichment have been made.  The dairy is denying the charges.  Aurora supplies organic milk to Wal-Mart, Wild Oats, Target, Costco, Safeway, and other retailers.
