Food Allergy Alert: Heartland Pie Crust

Blue Planet Foods is recalling 3,898 Heartland® brand graham pie crusts because they contain undeclared almonds, milk and coconut (a label mishap). People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds, milk or coconut run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. These pie crusts were distributed to retail stores throughout the U.S., and carry the freshness dates: “Best By Oct 27 2008 1” or “Best By Oct 27 2008 3.”  No allergic reactions have been reported, and for most consumers, there is no safety issue.
