Go Dairy Free Founder to Present at Gluten & Allergen-Free Expo in Chicago


Gluten-Free Allergen-Free Expo in Chicago - 2011April 2011 – Sponsored by Living Without Magazine, the 4th annual Gluten & Allergen Free Expo, will be held April 29 through May 1 in Chicago. 

From quick and easy meal preparation to bread baking, the professional chefs, restaurant owners, cookbook authors, nutritionists and vendors participating in The Gluten & Allergen Free Cook Expo plan to “show and tell” attendees that satisfying their taste buds is entirely possible without many of the common food intolerances that people are faced with every day.

Choosing gluten and allergen free foods and learning to implement these types of diets can be very tricky. To ease the process, the Gluten & Allergen Free Expo will be jam-packed with experts, information, demos, samples, and allergen-free vendors from all over the US and Canada.

Attend the Vendor Fair:

The Gluten & Allergen Free Expo is home to the Midwest’s largest gluten-free vendor fair (11,000 square feet of exhibit space) featuring the tastiest gluten-free cuisines and allergy-free foods in the marketplace. More than 70 vendors will be showcasing and sampling their products. 

The vendor fair will also house a designated nut-free area, kids’ activities, and staged presentations with seating for 100. One of the presentations will feature a dairy-free talk and recipe demonstration with Alisa Fleming, author of Go Dairy Free: The Guide and Cookbook. Alisa will speak on Sunday, May 1, but she will be available throughout the vendor fair for questions and book signing.

The vendor fair will be open to the public from 10am to 4pm, April 29 thru May 1. In addition to the vendor fair, this year’s Expo will feature a variety of cooking and baking classes taught by well-respected chefs, nutritionists and cookbook authors, who will offer tips for preparing gluten-free / allergen-free meals and snacks.  There’s also a special cooking class for children, free of the top eight allergens.  Participants will enjoy lively presentations, taste the recipes and have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the experts.
