TCBY Introduces New Dairy-Free Coconut Frozen Yogurt

Silk Dairy-Free Coconut Frozen Yogurt at TCBYThanks to the rapidly growing demand for dairy-free, TCBY has launched a third vegan flavor: coconut. In 2013, they teamed up with Silk to create an almond milk-based chocolate frozen yogurt followed by a vanilla option. Both of the dairy-free varieties were greeted with such overwhelming customer response that many stores quickly sold out. Based on the positive feedback, TCBY and Silk have joined forces again this year to release a coconut milk-based vegan frozen yogurt, just in time for summer.

The new dairy-free coconut frozen yogurt is already rolling out to stores nationwide and even being offered as a “swirl” with the chocolate almond-based frozen yogurt in many locations. We, at Go Dairy Free, have yet to test it ourselves, but in TCBY’s consumer testing, the Silk dairy-free coconut frozen yogurt ranked considerably high, and the swirl option was “through the roof.”

Customers can expect that the increased offerings will improve the likelihood of finding a dairy-free and vegan flavor or two at their local TCBY throughout the summer. In fact, we were amazed and excited by the level of promotion TCBY is putting behind their dairy-free line-up.

Silk Dairy-Free Coconut Frozen Yogurt at TCBYThose with severe milk allergies should keep in mind that flavors do rotate between machines, so potential cross-contamination could be a concern. Nonetheless, Kelly Miano, Director of Marketing at Famous Brands International (the parent company of TCBY), says “Consumers are becoming more savvy about their own dietary needs, more interested in ingredient knowledge and more discerning on taste. We want to consistently exceed their expectations.” So perhaps dedicated machines that constantly churn out delicious dairy-free coconut frozen yogurt and almond-based options will pop up in the future.

Ingredients for the Silk vegan frozen yogurt flavors can be found on the TCBY website:
