The Bar Shack Handcrafts Your Custom Dairy-Free Protein Bars

What would you make if you could choose from over 80 dairy-free ingredients to make your perfect bar? Whether you know exactly what “your” bar would look like, or you have no clue, The Bar Shack has you covered.

This family-owned business custom makes each small batch to fit your specific order. You get to pick the ingredients, and you even name your own bars! But if the decision is too much pressure, they have some plant-based protein bars already created and ready for you to order.

Your bars are made by real people in The Bar Shack’s commercial kitchen in Orlando, Florida. They don’t use any automation to create your special order, but they are equipped with the most advanced mixers, rolling pins, and pizza cutters to give your bars that professional edge. Co-founder Owen could probably set a world record for the number of protein bars he’s made!

And since they don’t make it until you order it, your bars are fresh. If you’ve ever bought a stale bar that has been lingering on store shelves too long (who hasn’t?) then you know how important this is. It’s just like homemade, but better, because it’s delivered right to your door.

Whatever Protein Bar Ingredients You Want – You Name It!

The Bar Shack uses high-quality, all-natural ingredients, but they shun preservatives, GMO’s, processed sugars, and artificial junk. And their ordering process is very easy. Trust me, even indecisive customers like me can make it through quickly with their simple steps.

First, you choose to build an “Original” or “Gourmet” Bar. The gourmet bars cost just a little more, but they allow you to pick some fancier ingredients like flavor oils (hello Cake Batter!).

Second, you select your protein bar base. They offer Soft & Datey (the most popular option and recommended for first-timers), Soft & Chewy, and Soft & Nutty/Seedy.

Third, you click your way through the ingredient sections, choosing your favorite protein bar components. All of the ingredients are dairy-free, except for the whey protein isolate and white chocolate chips. They are also vegan, except for the egg white protein, bee pollen, and honey. And believe me, this leaves a ton of options. They offer multiple plant-based protein powders, several natural sweeteners, superfoods, and more.

Fun Fact: Each bar is a hefty 2 ounces, and the nutrition facts automatically update as you add and subtract ingredients. So you can easily adjust the bars to meet your nutrient goals!

Finally, you name your bar (the really fun part!) and pick the packaging color. Then your bars are ready to be made and shipped fresh, just as you ordered them!

Not Time to Decide? Don’t worry, The Bar Shack has three pre-made vegan flavors that you can simply order with zero fuss: Lemon Poppy, Mint Chocolate Chip, and Peanut Butter Cookie.

The Top 10 Plant-Based Protein Bar Ingredients

I was curious, so I asked Adam, one of The Bar Shack’s co-founders, what the most popular ingredients are for their custom dairy-free protein bars. He responded with this delicious top-ten list, which might help to inspire your selections.

    1. Vanilla
    2. Cacao Powder / Cashew Butter (tie)
    3. Cacao Nibs
    4. Cinnamon
    5. Dark Chocolate Chips (dairy-free)
    6. Oats

    8. Peanut Butter

Who Loves The Bar Shack Custom Protein Bars?

These bars are a wonderful mix of fun and practical, and they are perfect for so many people.

Fitness Fanatics – Seriously, I can’t think of one active person that I know who doesn’t nosh on bars. And these are awesome because you can pick each and every ingredient based on taste and nutrition goals.

College Students – Talk about care package material! Keeping satiated between classes is essential, and these plant-based bars are the perfect satisfaction for mind and body.

Special Diet Kids – It’s hard enough for adults with restrictions, but kids can feel seriously left out. A bar that they customize (or that was created just for them) and with their name on it is a truly wonderful gift.

Desk Jockeys – I’ve spent my fair share of time behind a computer, and quite often, a bar is the easiest (and tastiest) option for quickly energizing. Plus, when you work in a shared office, you can make sure everyone knows they are YOUR bars with the custom label!

Parents On-the-Go – Imagine pulling a Mama’s Goodie Bar or Sweet Vegan Booty from your bag when you need nourishment in a hurry. The label alone will put a little pep in your step. And you can name it whatever you like – The Bar Shack chefs certainly won’t judge!
