First, there was PB&J day (with delicious Pan-Fried PB&J Sandwiches!), and now we have arrived at National Grilled Cheese Day. Yes, it is sandwich week, and there is absolutely no reason why dairy-free and vegan consumers should be left out of the celebration. I know, I know, it is cheese. But we have some perfectly awesome recipes for enjoying a vegan grilled cheese sans dairy.
The Caprese Grilled Cheese Sandwich by Spork Foods – I had the pleasure of sampling this amazing tomato and pesto vegan grilled cheese sandwich at a special event – delish!
Aurora Borealis Grilled Cheese by Gwendolyn Mathers – This dessert-worthy vegan grilled cheese recipe won 3rd place in the Professional category of the 10th Annual Grilled Cheese Invitational at the Pasadena Rose Bowl. The delicious layers include Daiya mozzarella, Tofutti cream cheese, candied brandied peaches, maple buttery spread, and a berry reduction on sourdough.
Grilled Cheese Wafflewich Sliders by Kristina at Spabettie – These mini towers of flavorful goodness are made with homemade, dairy-free, egg-free, savory zucchini waffles. Genius!
Homemade Dairy-Free Grilled Cheese Sandwich from Go Dairy Free – This is my personal favorite “from scratch” dairy-free grilled cheese recipe (no cheese alternative required!).

Hi, my name is Jess.
I have been reading your blog for a while, but I don’t know if I have ever left a comment before.
I have been dairy-free for about 4 years, and one of the things I have missed most is macaroni and cheese. I used the grilled cheez sammiches recipe above the other day for a grilled cheez sammich, and it was delicious, and today I just made the same cheez and put it on my noodles. Almost brought me back to having mac and cheese when I was little.
Thanks for the links!
I rarely have grilled cheese sandwiches–but I have to say, that Aurora Borealis one above could change all that for me! They ALL sound great. 🙂
