If you’re already a fan of Abe’s Muffins (who isn’t?!) then you will be elated to discover Abe’s Square Cakes. These sweet desserts are perfectly sized for small parties or to share as an afternoon indulgence. And they come in several flavors to fit almost any occasion.
Like all Abe’s products, these cakes are made free of dairy, eggs, tree nuts, peanuts, soy, and sesame seeds. And yes, they’r e also vegan-friendly!
Abe’s Square Cakes are Such a Sweet Allergy-Friendly Treat
Although they come in classic flavors, Abe’s Square Cakes have a few unique touches. Like how their Fruitcake is made with 25% fresh fruit, instead of dried fruit alone. And how their Cornbread has a classic texture, but is sweet like a full-fledged dessert! And take note that the slice sizes vary in the nutrition facts for the flavors below.
These are unfrosted cakes, but in most cases, you won’t need anything but a fork! They also go well with a scoop of dairy-free ice cream or whip topping.

Only buy if you're Vegan
I thought I would try this as it had nice packaging. But if you want a real cake, non-vegan, look elsewhere. The frosting was ok, but the cake is very crumbly. Not moist as you’d expect, again, unless you’re buying Vegan.
These are delicious!
We’ve tried the coffee cake, chocolate, and the cornbread. The coffee cake was perfectly sweet and had a wonderful texture. Plus, I’m a sucker for crumble topping! The cornbread is like very sweet cake. It’s delicious, but it’s definitely a dessert, not a side. I’m not a big fan of chocolate cake, but tried it, and can say the flavor is perfectly sweet. My husband and I both thought it begged for dairy-free ice cream or frosting. On its own, it’s good, but just a smidgen dry. Serving it birthday cake style would be perfection.
So Delicious!!!
Just saw this for the first time in Whole Foods! I bought the coffee cake and cornbread. they are amazing!
