Amy’s Organic Gluten-Free Sandwich Rounds are also Gum-Free and Vegan

Our household went gluten-free for several years, but there were, and still are, many gluten-free foods that don’t sit well with me. Particularly the ones that have measurable amounts of xanthan gum or guar gum. Which is why I was excited to see Amy’s Organic Gluten-Free Sandwich Rounds. Their recipe is not only dairy-free, egg-free, and nut-free, it’s also gum-free and contains no additives! But how do they taste? We tried them with Amy’s Veggie Burgers and were uniquely impressed.

Without any common binders, you might be wondering if these babies simply crumble in your hands. I know I was! But, they are in fact quite cohesive.

Here’s the catch. These gluten-free sandwich rounds remind me of sturdy pancakes. A brilliant idea indeed, and I’m not complaining, but these “buns” are what I would call a cross between flatbread and pancakes. That said, they work great for sandwiches, and are the gluten-free answer to those low-calorie “one buns” that everyone raves about.

As for preparation, these gluten-free sandwich rounds are sold in the freezer section, and can be prepared in the oven, toaster, or microwave.
