Amy’s Vegan Cheeze Meals go Green with Plant-Based Packaging

By Alisa Fleming on February 21, 2020 Dairy-Free Fresh & Frozen Entree Reviews, Product Reviews

My how time flies. I still remember reviewing Amy’s Baked Ziti nearly fifteen years ago. A frozen entree with dairy-free cheese was a big deal then. Today, it’s a much more common luxury. Amy’s Vegan Cheeze Meals now come in nine varieties, and they have new easy-to-recognize green packaging.

Amy’s is a vegetarian and egg-free company, but they do use dairy in quite a few of their frozen entrees. The new packaging makes it easy to spot the dairy-free options, and hopefully prevents anyone from confusing the Cheeze Bake with the Cheddar Bake!

Amy’s Vegan Cheeze Meals include all types of Italian and Mexican frozen entrees, from ravioli to lasagna, enchiladas to casseroles. If you’ve tried any of them, go ahead and leave your own rating and review below!

    the 'cheeze' is magic

    Rated 5 out of 5

I bought the Vegan Mexican Casserole and the Tortilla one and the ‘cheeze’ is insanely real to the point I was freaked out. It even has a pull like cheese and tastes just like it. I HIGHLY recommend these. I could have it for dinner literally every night.

The tomato base had just a hint of warm black pepper like spice (the type that I loved as a kid), but the real surprise came in the form of soy ricotta. Within the bright red sauce lurked a fabulous soy based “ricotta cheese.” It was sensational! “Was” being the operative word. We plowed through those bowls quickly. Even my husband began scraping the sides of his empty bowl for every last bit of sauce. As he licked the bowl clean, he mumbled, “I think it was the ricotta, mmm, really good.” The sparse mozza topping was just okay, but the sauce and ricotta were a big win.
