Babybel Plant-Based Rolls Out Second Dairy-Free Flavor

    0
By Alisa Fleming on May 4, 2023 Dairy-Free Cheese Substitute Reviews, Dairy-Free Snack Reviews, Product Reviews

Updated May 2023! Last year, Bel Brands finally released a dairy-free version of their popular cheese snack wheels called Babybel Plant-Based. It rolled out in the U.K. first and then in the U.S. The launch was so successful, that they’ve formulated a second vegan flavor: White Cheddar. Both the classic and white cheddar varieties are wrapped in wax, and have a soft, smooth, and creamy texture to complete the nostalgic experience.

Babybel Plant-Based Cheese Reviews and Info - dairy-free mini cheese wheels coated in wax, just like the originals! Gluten-free and allergy-friendly.

Babybel Plant-Based Mimics their Two Most Popular Varieties

The original Babybel Plant-Based flavor was modeled after their classic Mozzarella-style snack. Now they’re working their way down the line with a copycat of their popular White Cheddar, too. Once you buy and try either variety, be sure to leave your unbiased rating and review below to let us know what you think of this dairy-free version! Just use caution when purchasing as the dairy-free Babybel products look similar to the dairy ones!

    Original (Mozzarella-style)

Babybel Plant-Based Reviews and Info - dairy-free and vegan versions of Babybel Original (mozzarella-style) and White Cheddar flavors.Ingredients: water, modified food starch, coconut oil, calcium citrate, no more than 2% of each: salt, natural flavor, citric acid, beta-carotene (color), cyanocobalamin (vitamin b12).

White Cheddar (ingredients and nutrition facts are tentative – awaiting actuals for this new flavor)

We expect that the ingredients and nutrition facts of the White Cheddar will be very similar to the Original, but will update when we have them.

Babybel Plant Based is better at room temperature.

    June 24, 2022

I’m on my 3rd bag of Babybel Plant Based.

I can no longer tolerate any form of red algae, any form of mammal or its by-products.

What a thrill to discover these tasty little Babybel Plant Based cheeses individually wrapped in green wax.

    I love this new flavor.

They also melt and spread nicely.

    Thank you BabyBel.

*** It would be terrific if sliced cheese was also available!

    *UPDATE*

I already left a positive review. But I forgot to mention, that like a lot of cheeses, room temperature brings out the flavor.

My first bite of this cheese was straight out of the refrigerator.

    It was meh.

So, I topped a cracker with a piece and warmed it in the microwave.

    What a difference.

The warmed cheese is really very tasty.

And it melts so smooth and creamy.

I’ve cut up a few to top broccoli, rice, baked potato, rice cakes and pasta.

It would be great if it was offered in other forms.

    ….like sliced cheese! 😋

    Thank you.

I was really longing to try these as it’s one of the snacks I miss most since being vegan. It’s disgusting! I can imagine it tastes just like bathroom tile sealer (and no I haven’t tried). Utterly disappointed Babybel hasn’t even tried to make it taste like cheese. As if they do it on purpose to desperately grab for the real deal. Waste of time and money! And I feel sick:(

These are very tasty! I have no reaction, but I wish they were more transparent with what is in the “modified food starch” because some people (fortunately not me) are allergic to corn. There’s no way to know what the ingredients really are!

This was so good. Cute packaging, and spot on flavor and texture. Snackable and tasty. I’m going to see if it is meltable!

    AMAZING VEGAN CHEESE

I’ve been vegan for 6 years. I’ve tried almost all the vegan cheeses.. THESE BABYBELS ARE SO GOOD OMG!!! I’m sad there are bad reviews (that I think come from dairy consumers).. so leaving reviews on all the sites I can to advocate to keep these babies on the market! I have already bought 6 bags in the past week. I’m from Wisconsin and these are ALMOST like CHEESE CURDS. I feel like I’ve been waiting for this moment for 6 years ever since I gave up the curds..lol. I nearly cried trying these for the first time. They will now be a staple in my vegan cheese loving diet. THANK YOU BABYBEL. the future is VEGAN and I’m loving it!!!
