Beanfields Bean Chips are Like Tortilla Chips, Only Better

    18
By Alisa Fleming on June 27, 2016 Dairy-Free Snack Reviews, Product Reviews

The “healthy” chip market has exploded in recent years, but one manufacturer has broken away from the pack by producing corn-free tortilla chips in amazing dairy-free flavors. Beanfields Bean Chips (formerly known as Beanfield’s Bean and Rice Chips) are made simply with black and navy beans, rice, oil, and natural seasonings.

Consequently, Beanfields Chips pack in around 4 grams each of fiber, protein and fats per serving and 4% of the RDA for calcium. I think four is the lucky number for this little company!

Beanfields Bean Chips Reviews and Info - gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, soy-free, corn-free, and vegan! Ten flavors, include Cheddar Sour Cream, Spicy Queso, Salt and Vinegar, and More.

Some other tasty facts about Beanfields Bean Chips include the following:

    • Farmed and made in the USA.
    • Gluten-Free, free of the Top 8 Allergens (including dairy), and as mentioned, they are even free of other relatively common allergens, like corn.
    • Currently available in five seven ten varieties.
    • Available in multi-serve bags and single-serve packages, which are great for lunch boxes.

As for the flavors, we liked every single one that we tried. I’m not just being nice either – they are seriously scrumptious. Even our picky young testers agreed. Below I’ve included product details and tasting notes for each of the Beanfields Bean Chips varieties that we sampled, followed by a quick list of their additional flavors.

    Sea Salt

These are your baseline Beanfields Bean Chips. Each bite had just the right sprinkling of salt to satisfy cravings.

    Pico de Gallo

I would describe this chip as full of flavor, but with a mild salsa-like kick. Tony devoured these SO fast that I really only got to try a few. Obviously, they are pretty good.

    Nacho

This cheesy dairy-free chip won a coveted VegNews Best of Show Award upon release. I concur that they are addictive, unique, bold, and not the least bit artificial in taste.

    Jalapeno Nacho

Woowee! For those of you who were disappointed in the mild mannered Pico de Gallo, this flavor has a hot temper! They aren’t dangerously spicy, but do pack quite a punch.

    Black Bean with Sea Salt

Matching their deeper hue, these have a slight earthy flavor that reminds me a bit of flax seed. Still good, but more of a dip-delivery chip for me!

    Complete crowd pleaser

Beans in a chip? Somehow, this brand pulls it off and even manages to make them with all-natural ingredients that are free of gluten and top allergens. All of the flavors are extra-crunchy and perfectly seasoned, but the Nacho, Ranch and Barbecue flavors truly take it up a notch and are crazy addictive. Dairy-free or not, these chips are a complete crowd pleaser.

OMG I love these chips better than Boulders Coconut Oil Potato Chips and Avocado Oil Potato Chips. They are so delicious and addictive. I hope they are as healthy as they are tasty! LOVE LOVE!

I recently purchased a bag of Beanfields Black Bean, Navy Beans & Brown Rice Nacho chips at Whole Foods. I do not eat chips that often, but WF’s had such a nice selection of these chips, I decided to try them. They are tasty, and quite good, and of course, I love the fact they have healthier ingredients then most chips. I will probably try some of the other varieties as well!

That’s great! Thanks for sharing your own review Sharon – very helpful for all.

Are your products kept separated from the products that may contain wheat? I have celiac and I nervous upon reading your allergen information!

Hi Stefanie, you will need to reach out to Beanfield’s directly, I’m not affiliated with them. Here is their website – http://www.beanfieldssnacks.com/

I was really impressed with the Ranch flavor. Definitely good when you are craving something salty.

      • Alisa Fleming on May 12, 2015 5:53 pm

Me, too! That Ranch was a surprise, and their newest flavor I think.

    9. Alycia on May 12, 2015 7:12 am

I love this product! As someone who is a gluten free vegan it’s nice to have an indulgence every once in awhile. Sea salt is my favorite flavor.

THANK YOU Beanfields!!! Several months ago, we learned that our son needed to reduce his already restricted diet by one more major ingredient: corn This was a bit of a bummer to be sure; nachos has been one of his absolute favorite foods! Luckily, we sampled a bag of Beanfields and he is such a happy camper!! His favorites are the Nacho flavor and Pico de Gallo flavor but we also use the Sea Salt flavor to make our own nachos!!!

      • Alisa Fleming on May 12, 2015 6:44 am

That’s so wonderful, Sue! Those seem to be the “hottest” flavors!

    11. Gretchen on May 11, 2015 9:31 am

I absolutely love Beanfields (Nacho & Pico de Gallo esp). I have a nerve condition that requires me to eat a good amount of protein and sodium. These chips fit the bill perfectly and taste delicious.

      • Alisa Fleming on May 11, 2015 10:04 am
