Shake Your BOM BOM with Two New Creamy Vegan Liqueurs (DISCONTINUED)

By Alisa Fleming on November 8, 2018 Discontinued Products, Product Reviews

Unfortunately, the delicious BOM BOM dairy-free liqueurs have been discontinued. To see the options that are still available, see our guide to the Best Dairy-Free Cream Liqueurs.

You really deserve this. BOM BOM dairy-free liqueur is a new line of creamy alcoholic beverages from an award-winning company. Each sip offers sweet nostalgic flavors with a very grown-up finish.*

BOM BOM dairy-free liqueur is also a unique and delicious gift that comes in a beautiful, thick glass bottle with a stylish wooden cork. They’ll never guess that it cost you just $20! You can bet I’ll be getting a bottle of each for this year’s holiday hostess.

Meet the BOM BOM Dairy-Free Liqueur Flavors

BOM BOM currently makes two dairy-free varieties that are both lighter than dairy-based brands, but wonderfully fulfilling.

    Nilli Vanilli

BOM BOM Nilli Vanilli is a gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan blend of premium Caribbean rum, almondmilk, and natural cookie flavors. It has a dreamy vanilla wafer taste in every sip, and is delightfully creamy. I thought it was sweet, strong, comforting, and a little familiar with that warm vanilla flavor and smooth richness.

You could compare Nilli Vanilli to Bailey’s, but we thought it tasted much better. The Beverage Tasting Institute actually awarded Nilli Vanilli a “Best of 2017” seal in the cream category of the International Review of Spirits, despite the fact that it contains no cream!

Nilli Vanilli is spiked generously with 14% alcohol by volume (ABV). And a standard 1.5-ounce serving contains just 90 calories, 6.6 grams sugar, and 3 grams fat. It’s a much lighter option than the popular dairy-based cream drinks – Bailey’s and Rumchata each contain about 140 calories and much more sugar per serving. But there isn’t a drop of sacrifice in the experience.

    Fully Baked

BOM BOM Fully Baked is gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan, but it’s also nut-free by ingredients. This unique drink is a blend of premium Caribbean rum, hemp seed “milk,” and natural brownie and cookie flavors. It rivals Nilli Vanilli in creaminess, but has delicious gentle underpinnings of chocolate in the flavor.

And don’t worry, Fully Baked doesn’t contain any artificial flavors, preservatives, or THC! Hemp seeds are not the same as marijuana, and hemp seed milk doesn’t contain that high-inducing chemical. It’s pure, clean, and rich in Omega 3 fatty acids.

Fully Baked has a smidgen more alcohol with 14.2% ABV. And the standard 1.5-ounce serving contains just 89 calories, 5 grams sugar, and 3 grams fat. Consequently, it tastes just a little lighter and less sweet than the Nilli Vanilli, but with the same rich satisfaction.

    Shake Your BOM BOM Recipes

BOM BOM gave me some fun recipes to try out, including two holiday pie-inspired blends. They’re a delicious dairy-free way to #drinkyourpie – if you’re 21 or older of course!

    Vegan Pumpkin Pie Martini

This tastes like an adult version of pumpkin pie filling in a glass. Simply combine 3 parts Nilli Vanilli BOM BOM dairy-free liqueur with 1 part vodka (plain, vanilla, or chai) and a spoonful of pumpkin. I like to garnish the glass with crushed cookies for the “crust,” and add a little cinnamon. Get the detailed and printable recipe here.

BOM BOM Dairy-Free Liqueur - Creamy Almond Milk Nilli Vanilli and Hemp Milk Fully Baked varieties - both dairy-free and gluten-free

    Vegan Apple Pie Martini

This is a completely different blend that’s spiked with nostalgic yet grown-up flavors. To make it, combine 4 parts Fully Baked BOM BOM dairy-free liqueur with 1/2 part apple whiskey and 1/2 part cinnamon whiskey. I add a little ground cinnamon, too, and a pinch of ground nutmeg. And a cinnamon stir stick is almost essential! Get the detailed and printable recipe here.

    Where to Purchase BOM BOM

BOM BOM dairy-free liqueur is sold at spirit retailers throughout the U.S., including Total Wine & More and BevMax. Visit the BOM BOM store locator to find a shop near you -> www.drinkbombom.com/find-us

If BOM BOM isn’t available near your home, ask your local store to bring it in! They can order it from their distributors simply by dropping the BOM BOM name.

    Who is BOM BOM?

I love this story. BOM BOM Brands was founded by the husband and wife team of Kevin Mowers and Eva Maria Janerus, but it blossomed from when they were dating. To woo Eva Maria, Kevin deconstructed her favorite sweet treat, a Mounds Bar, and incorporated the flavors into a custom cocktail for her. She enjoyed it so much that she began asking him to make it for her and friends on a regular basis. They called it “BOM BOM” which is slang for “My Sweetie” in Spain. More fun experiments eventually led to the creation of Nilli Vanilli and Fully Baked, their dairy-free line.

For more product information, visit the BOM BOM website. And remember, if you have a severe food allergy, you must always contact the company to confirm if a product is produced safely for your needs. As a heads up, both varieties do list soy on the allergen disclaimer.

I love Bom Bom! It’s sweet and creamy and so smooth! Delicious on it’s own, in a cocktail, or even morning coffee (don’t judge!). 🙂

How fun! I’m definitely going to keep my eyes peeled for them. I’ve heard that the vegan Bailey’s was underwhelming. So I’m eager to try Bom Bom.
