Califia Farms Protein Almondmilk Single Serves provide a Healthy Boost (DISCONTINUED)

Unfortunately, Califia Farms Protein Almondmilk Single Serves were discontinued. See our Dairy-Free Protein Shakes section for options that are still available. It includes powders and ready-to-drink options.

Believe it or not, Califia used to put dairy in their protein almondmilk. Don’t worry, those days are many years past, and we’ve forgiven them for that strange faux pas. These days they sell Califia Farms Protein Almondmilk in single serves for a convenient post-workout recovery drink or midday refuel.

Califia has made several other modifications to their protein line. When we tried them, about five years ago, they were quite high in sugars. But they’ve since slashed the sugars in half, and come out with a sugar-free, keto-friendly version. The sweetened varieties are boosted with maca, the keto flavor is enriched with coconut cream, and all three are generously fortified with calcium.

I also used to buy their Almondmilk, until I learned about the dangers of Carageenan. I will look for the ones with protein at my local Whole Foods. I might start buying it again.

    4. Vivienne on March 25, 2015 1:55 pm

I wish their coffee creamer was Carrageenan free as well.

      • Alisa Fleming on March 26, 2015 8:39 am

There are other carrageenan free almond milk creamers on the market Vivienne!

    5. Anne on March 24, 2015 6:36 am

I really like Califia Almond milk until I saw that it had Carrageenan. I quit buying after that. Why wont they take that out?

      • Alisa Fleming on March 24, 2015 7:50 am

Hi Anne, as mentioned in this post, the Almondmilk with Protein from Califia (both flavors) is in fact carrageenan-free. So they are taking it out with newer formulations.
