Sadly, the entire original Chobani Non-Dairy line, made with coconut, has been discontinued. But, they’ve moved forward with their dairy-free oat-based line. You can still get Chobani Oat Yogurt Cups and Chobani Oat Yogurt Blends.
Despite releasing a new non-dairy line, Chobani is staunchly against using dairy terms like “milk” and “yogurt” on dairy-free products. This isn’t a debate that I would typically weigh in on, but Chobani has failed to address one major thing. If you don’t call it yogurt, what do you call it? They’ve simply slapped the name “Chobani Non-Dairy” on all of their dairy-free products, no matter what they are. I think we either need some new terms, or people will simply call Chobani Non-Dairy Cups, “yogurt,” whether they like it or not.
The Founder and CEO of Chobani, Hamdi Ulukaya, says the Non-Dairy Chobani “isn’t a replacement to dairy, but it’s a game-changer for plant-based products.” He then proceeds to call them “coconut purees.” Sorry Hamdi, but I don’t think “purees” is going to catch on. However, I do think many people will be very happy to purchase your non-dairy “not yogurt” in the yogurt aisle, and enjoy it just like they would yogurt (with granola for breakfast), for the same reason as yogurt (probiotics).

Chobani Non-Dairy Cups are Coconut-Based “Yogurt,” We Think
Like yogurt, Chobani Non-Dairy Cups are cultured, and they contain 6 types of live and active probiotics. They’re also creamy, spoonable, and perfect for enjoying with fresh fruit or other toppings. And they’re carrageenan-free, lower in sugars than most dairy versions, and sweetened solely with cane sugar. But they aren’t fortified, so they are lighter in protein and calcium than traditional dairy yogurt.
We’ve yet to sample each flavor, but leave your own rating and review to tell us what you think of them!

So gross
The reviewer who said it is like “liquid goo with sand bits” was spot on. I tried the Blueberry flavor and the texture was not pleasant. Nor did mine look like the picture above – it was not creamy at all, but kind of transparent and runny. Also not a fan of the flavor which was overly sweet. I will stick with Kite Hill, Daiya or So Delicious which are all far superior in taste and texture.
Tastes like a science fair project gone bad
Tried a free sample of the peach and blueberry “cups” and immediately regretted it. Overly sweet and over flavored. The worst part is the substance’s (because we can’t call it ‘yogurt’) strange, grainy texture. It’s as if someone mixed corn grits in with watered down nonfat milk and tang. What a terrible invention.
Scraping the bottom for more!
BEYOND recommend this yogurt for non-dairy eaters like myself. I have had the vanilla flavor over and over. It is absolutely delicious!
Strange Texture
I tried the Strawberry flavor. The taste was good but the texture is hard to get past. More like liquid goo with sand like bits (maybe ground seeds). I couldn’t eat more then a few bites.
Not safe for the dairy-allergic
I was very excited to try this yogurt substitute. The taste and texture are very close to dairy yogurt. Unfortunately, they still need to work on avoiding cross-contamination. My daughter had an allergic reaction after just a few bites. This indicates to me that the dairy-free yogurt is being processed on the same line as the dairy, and that the equipment isn’t being sufficiently cleaned in between. I hope that Chobani is able to address this issue. I’d love to be able to buy this dairy-free yogurt for my family.
Not worth the $$
If I could give zero stars I would. I tried the strawberry flavor a try and I have to say it had ok flavor however the texture was hard to get past. It was an almost transparent goo that had tiny semi hard sand like particles that you instinctively chew. I is not a product that I will purchase again. Blech.
A Welcomed Improvement
Most non-dairy yogurts have much more added cane sugar for fruity kinds, leaving me to have to always eat plain or plain sweetened flavors. The sugar content is very welcomed, and tastes great. Texture is nice, though it is too thin for Greek-style yogurt. Hoping they expand on this idea, thicken the yogurt a bit, and maybe even make a line with a base that is lower in saturated fats.
Best!
It’s the best non dairy=free yogurt I’ve tasted.
Best “non dairy” I’ve had
I’m picky about texture when it comes to “yogurt”. This has an excellent creamy texture and equally good taste. I’ve enjoyed the vanilla and blue berry flavors and look forward to the others.
Deliciousness
Nondairy yogurt takes great. Some nondairy yogurts are gritty or too tangy. These taste really good.
