Tasting Notes for Cocoa Canard Spooning Chocolate

Once melted and whipped into hot water, it has a rich, smooth, semi-sweet flavor appealing to most chocoholic taste buds. Although it’s delicious chilled as well, this time of year, piping hot chocolate is my pleasure. Also, adding a touch of light coconut milk (note that the tiny white specs in my mug are from the coconut milk, not the chocolate!) makes it more of a full-bodied beverage.

This is more of a special luxury than an everyday indulgence, but it’s definitely a wonderful sipping experience to snuggle up with. The 64% dark, dairy-free, soy-free cacao pastilles create a rich, perfectly sweet mug of true, melted hot chocolate (I liked it best with just a touch of light coconut cream added for body). As an added bonus, each canister includes a mini-molinillo for traditional-style preparation, and for gift-giving, Cocoa Canard also has a nice package with a spoon-adorned mug.
