Many years ago, I tried Tula’s Cocoyo and fell in love. It was the sugar-free, dairy-free, probiotic yogurt I had been seeking. I was sad when that product disappeared from the market, but my dismay didn’t last long. GT’s Living Foods brought Cocoyo Living Coconut Yogurt back to life in 2017 and has remained true to the product’s high quality and nutrition standards ever since. They’ve also been able to support Cocoyo with greater distribution and with the development of new flavors, like Peach Nectarine, Blueberry Ginger and Piña Colada.
Cocoyo Coconut Yogurt Comes Alive with 7 Probiotic-Rich Flavors
The clean ingredients, lack of sweeteners, and substantial probiotic count are impressive. But the uniqueness of Cocoyo becomes truly apparent when you open it. This really is a “live” yogurt that literally expands when you open it. It’s quite rich, yet the natural effervescence makes it light in taste. That’s probably one of the many reasons it made our Best Dairy-Free Yogurt list.

What are the Probiotics in Cocoyo?
Cocoyo contains a proprietary blend of live and active cultures, but the dominant probiotics are Lactobacillus, Lactocuccus, and Leuconostoc strains. According to the company, the cultures are grown on a dairy-free and vegan medium, and each 1/2 cup serving contains 100 billion probiotics at the time of bottling.

Brace yourself for the Fizz
I’m a fan of GT’s Kombucha, but was not expecting for the yogurt to have that same type of fizz. I had high hopes for this product, but it’s a bit weird and off putting. But for the price paid I can’t let them go to waste, and just had to remind myself of the great health benefits while I ate it. I love coconut, so the coconut pieces throughout the jar isn’t a problem, but I do prefer the vanilla flavor over the pure coconut flavor.
I'm pleased
There are not many good tasting non-dairy yogurt products on the market. I’m very pleased with this product that I discovered 2 weeks ago at M.O. M. Organic Market.
Amazing 🙂 Grows on you after the first taste!!
This is one of my favorite dairy – free yogurts. I could eat it all day:). I appreciate the low sugar and amazing probiotic cultures. I am a fan of anything coconut – my favorite is the Vanilla Cocoyo! It is definitely an expensive habit & too costly for buying the amount I would like to eat at one a day…. Three cheers to Sprouts for caring it in San Diego:). Promotions would be great… or buying a case would be my first choice!!
FABULOUS! AMAZING! HEALTHY! I love it. Plain!
The only bad thing about this yogurt is that it is hard to find!!! Near me, it is only sold at Whole Foods in a teeny, tiny section of their refrigerator on the top shelf! I’m only 5’2″ people!!! Sometimes, I can’t reach it when the front ones are empty. What a shame because this yogurt PLAIN is so good. I guess good things are always hard to get. Come on Publix, get on board! We want to be healthy Americans.
Not for me
I had the coconut yogurt and it tasted expired/very sour and there were chucks of coconut inside…. unexpected
I love it!!!!
I love the fizz! It’s just the right amount of sweetness, low carb, no sugar. How do you do it? It’s the one thing I can eat and enjoy (as a dessert even) on a gluten free, sugar free, dairy free, egg free, gallbladder diet and still get the healthy fats I need. Thank you for a wonderful product! Can you sell it in larger containers?
Is it suppose to be sour?
I bought the vanilla flavor (also says it expires in 2 days) but the flavor is a very powerful sourness to it. And I don’t care for the effervescent. It’s super intense.
Best coconut yogurt ever
The taste is so yummy-mildly sweet. Very alive with probiotics. I pick some up whenever we head to the nearest city an hour away.
Cocoyo
I have stomach issues and on a low fodmap diet. This hits the spot when I crave for a special treat.Sometimes I mix it with coconutor almond..I buy it at Fresh Market.Only complaint I I have a hard time finding it to n stuck.Iwould love to buy cases.
zero stars
I put this in my mouth, froze in place for a second in abject horror, and then bolted out of my chair to find the nearest place to discreetly spit it out. I had no idea it would be “fizzy.” When I was a child, fizzy drinks made me cry, and since then I have never in my life deliberately consumed them. I am probably hyper-sensitive to the sensation of “fizzy” foods, so your reaction might be different, but it’s still worth being warned so you know what you’re getting into.
Bummer how expensive this is for something that will go down the toilet/garbage disposal.

Just purchased this item, coconut CocoYo…what an amazing product. Tastes delicious, just enough tang, really great texture and consistency. I’m a sugar-free nut and really do seek out products that are true to the core! So glad to have discovered it, thank you to Plum Market for offering it as a special, yes this did work for me!
Hello I am excited to see the yogurt product. I am wondering what in the ingredients. I am not to have any sweetener added to any of of my food. I can’t not seem to find the ingredients list for the CocoYo living coconut yogurt.
Hi Beth, I have to update this post as they were bought out recently. They’re now by GT’s – http://gtslivingfoods.com/offering/cocoyo/pure-2/
Where can I buy CocoYo in the South Orange County area?
I’m not sure! You’d need to check their website -> http://coyo.com/us/
We’re not affiliated with any brands.
Where do u buy it? How is this better than a multistrain probiotic?
Bee, click through to the company website for answers to your questions.

I don’t believe they use fructose, as this is a very low sugar product. But you will need to check the packaging, and/or check with the company. You can head straight to their website via the links in my review. Their website is http://cocokefir.com/.
