Many years ago, I tried Tula’s Cocoyo and fell in love. It was the sugar-free, dairy-free, probiotic yogurt I had been seeking. I was sad when that product disappeared from the market, but my dismay didn’t last long. GT’s Living Foods brought Cocoyo Living Coconut Yogurt back to life in 2017 and has remained true to the product’s high quality and nutrition standards ever since. They’ve also been able to support Cocoyo with greater distribution and with the development of new flavors, like Peach Nectarine, Blueberry Ginger and Piña Colada.
Cocoyo Coconut Yogurt Comes Alive with 7 Probiotic-Rich Flavors
The clean ingredients, lack of sweeteners, and substantial probiotic count are impressive. But the uniqueness of Cocoyo becomes truly apparent when you open it. This really is a “live” yogurt that literally expands when you open it. It’s quite rich, yet the natural effervescence makes it light in taste. That’s probably one of the many reasons it made our Best Dairy-Free Yogurt list.

What are the Probiotics in Cocoyo?
Cocoyo contains a proprietary blend of live and active cultures, but the dominant probiotics are Lactobacillus, Lactocuccus, and Leuconostoc strains. According to the company, the cultures are grown on a dairy-free and vegan medium, and each 1/2 cup serving contains 100 billion probiotics at the time of bottling.

effervescence....
I think its a great product but for the love of good .. please take the horrible effervescence away….!!!!!!! it seems like someone wanted a fizzy drink and yogurt at the same time, no judgment but no thank you.
Response from Go Dairy Free
That’s actually the live active probiotics. They create the “fizzy” in large quantities.
Completely Unexpected and Unusual
So… I wasn’t really sure what the effervescent comments could possibly mean- now I know. How unexpected- I took two bites of the Plain- was completely taken aback- even laughed! The after taste is really delicious- the effervescence is strange! I’m a huge fan of Original Lavva- and I’m trying to find another clean dairy free yogurt- it’s not easy- most have added sugars and other strange ingredients. I’m hoping if i add a banana or maybe walnuts the cocoyo will be it! Does anyone have any other recommendations? I was hoping for more of a coconut flavor…
Response from Go Dairy Free
Coyo (a different brand, similar name), uses just a little stevia, but is very coconuty and has simple ingredients. Here is info -> https://www.godairyfree.org/product-reviews/coyo-coconut-milk-yogurt
Need this product or something very close to it's benefits from your company
Cocoyo is the best product I’ve tried in years. I can no longer purchase this miracle yogurt at our local store. Is there another product you produce that would have the same qualities and benefits that this store might stock. Perhaps some kind of probiotic drink, for instance. Thank you for striving for excellence with your cocoyo product. Elizabeth
Response from Go Dairy Free
We don’t sell any products. Go Dairy Free is an informational site. But Coyo offers a drinkable kefir with similar benefits -> https://www.godairyfree.org/product-reviews/coyo-dairy-free-kefir
New jar
The new jar is better than the old ones. The drawback is the labels dont come off very easily. I save the jars to reuse.
So Good!!
I can’t even begin to describe how much I love this stuff. The slight effervescence is delightful. It’s not overly sweet and the texture is perfect. Not too thick and also not runny. And it really helps my gut- I haven’t ever been able to say that about any other yogurt. I wish I could get it delivered somehow as I’m not very close to Whole Foods and they can’t seem to keep it in stock anyway. It sells out fast. Try it you won’t be disappointed!
Finally
Finally a non dairy yogurt thats not overly sweet. The texture is amazing. Hope someone carries the vanilla.
Love the stuff
The best yogurt I have ever had. almost addictive. Sadly, the health foods stores near me are closing. Wish Publix and Walmart would carry.
Perfect for coating or dipping fruit!
Cocoyo is now one of my favorite things. I followed the advice of the nutrition specialist who teaches at our local Natural Grocers to try just a tablespoon or two at a time — which is still enough for me a few jars later as it is very rich with cultures and coconutty, good fat.
I coated blueberries with the vanilla flavor and ate them with Ezekiel 4:9 toast for breakfast and alone with the berries as a small dessert or snack. Each jar is about 5 servings this way. It was like a very healthy dessert.
I also loved the turmeric and ginger flavor as a dip for dried organic mango slices — to die for — or apple or Asian pear slices. Served this way as a dipping sauce for the fruit, a few tablespoons is plenty and makes the fruit seem like a fancy dessert. And it’s so good for you! I love it and so do some friends I have recommended it to.
I love finding a treasure like this because my budget is not huge and I like to eat vegan and organic, so a simple but elegant treat like Cocoyo is an exciting find to me. The price should not be compared ounce for ounce with other non dairy yogurts because it is so much richer and to be eaten a little at a time. It is really a different product and to me, it is a self-care treat worth the expense.
Finally found low sugar non dairy coconut yogurt
I love your product which I found at the Fresh Market in Orlando, Florida. I wish it was available nationwide since I live in Arizona. I make my own coconut milk yogurt at home with nondairy probiotics and canned coconut milk so I know what I’m talking about when I say the freshness in your product is out of this world. It tastes like I’m eating fresh coconut right on a Caribbean beach. Keep up the good work and thanks for making an effort to help people improve their health.
Non-dairy yogurt
Excellent coconut milk base yogurt with raspberry juice or vanilla and no sugar for restricted diets. Delicious!

Just purchased this item, coconut CocoYo…what an amazing product. Tastes delicious, just enough tang, really great texture and consistency. I’m a sugar-free nut and really do seek out products that are true to the core! So glad to have discovered it, thank you to Plum Market for offering it as a special, yes this did work for me!
Hello I am excited to see the yogurt product. I am wondering what in the ingredients. I am not to have any sweetener added to any of of my food. I can’t not seem to find the ingredients list for the CocoYo living coconut yogurt.
Hi Beth, I have to update this post as they were bought out recently. They’re now by GT’s – http://gtslivingfoods.com/offering/cocoyo/pure-2/
Where can I buy CocoYo in the South Orange County area?
I’m not sure! You’d need to check their website -> http://coyo.com/us/
We’re not affiliated with any brands.
Where do u buy it? How is this better than a multistrain probiotic?
Bee, click through to the company website for answers to your questions.
Hi there, I have an auto immune deficiency. just a note to ask if this product is also Fructose free as i also have Ceoliac disease, and am boder line type 2 diabetic. I am 47yrs of age and am going through menopause and have put on some unwanted weight, with symptoms that
almost resemble how i felt before being diagnosed 9yrs ago.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards
Rosalba Marino
I don’t believe they use fructose, as this is a very low sugar product. But you will need to check the packaging, and/or check with the company. You can head straight to their website via the links in my review. Their website is http://cocokefir.com/.
