It’s another first for one of the biggest allergy-friendly brands. Daiya is leading the latest vegan frozen pizza trends with a unique new line of Italian-influenced flatbreads. Each variety of Daiya Flatbread is made with a thin gluten-free crust, topped with fresh plant-based ingredients, and garnished with the company’s signature Cutting Board Cheeze Shreds.
Daiya Flatbread Freezes out the Competition with 3 Italian-Inspired Flavors
Like their pizzas, Daiya Flatbreads have easy “unwrap and bake” instructions, and take about 20 minutes to cook. But unlike those American-influenced varieties, they’re topped with ingredients that beckon to the flavors of a modern trattoria. We’ve included the details and ingredients below. Once you’ve bought and tried them, be sure to leave your unbiased rating and review.
Mushroom, Caramelized Onion & Fig
Instead of a red sauce, this variety has a creamy garlic sauce and is sprinkled with mozza and feta-style cheezes. The toppings provide a blend of rich, sweet, and savory flavors, and are garnished with kale for some hearty nutrition.
Ingredients: gluten-free crust (water, rice flour, tapioca flour, potato starch, chickpea flour, milled flaxseed, olive oil, rice starch, cane sugar, yeast, sea salt, chicory root fiber, psyllium, xanthan gum, locust bean gum), mozzarella and feta style cheeze blend (filtered water, tapioca flour, coconut oil, potato starch, expeller pressed safflower oil, natural flavors, salt, tricalcium phosphate, chickpea protein, lactic acid, pea protein, xanthan gum, konjac flour, fruit and/or vegetable juice color, yeast extract, enzyme), white sauce (water, expeller pressed canola oil, tapioca flour, natural flavor, garlic, guar gum, sea salt, yeast extract, lactic acid, black pepper, xanthan gum), kale, mushroom, caramelized onions, fig, thyme.

Tomato, Sunflower Seed Pesto & Arugula
Dairy-free, nut-free sunflower seed pesto provides the base for fresh tomatoes, red onions, arugula, and a generous sprinkling of parmesan style shreds.
Ingredients: gluten-free crust (water, rice flour, tapioca flour, potato starch, chickpea flour, milled flaxseed, olive oil, rice starch, cane sugar, yeast, sea salt, chicory root fiber, psyllium, xanthan gum, locust bean gum), white sauce (water, expeller pressed canola oil, tapioca flour, natural flavor, garlic, guar gum, sea salt, yeast extract, lactic acid, black pepper, xanthan gum), cutting board collection parmesan style shreds (filtered water, tapioca flour, coconut oil, expeller pressed safflower oil, chickpea protein, salt, natural flavors, tricalcium phosphate, lactic acid, yeast extract, fruit and/or vegetable juice color, konjac flour, xanthan gum), tomatoes, sunflower seed pesto sauce (sunflower oil, basil, sunflower seeds, sea salt, garlic, citric acid), onions, arugula.

Meatless Italian Sausage Style Crumbles, Roasted Pepper & Kale
Don’t let the nutrition facts fool you. This is the lightest one of the bunch – the numbers are for half a flatbread, not a third like the others. But it’s topped with hearty vegan sausage, roasted yellow peppers, kale, and both parmesan and feta-style cheezes.
Ingredients: gluten-free crust (water, rice flour, tapioca flour, potato starch, chickpea flour, milled flaxseed, olive oil, rice starch, cane sugar, yeast, sea salt, chicory root fiber, psyllium, xanthan gum, locust bean gum), white sauce (water, expeller pressed canola oil, tapioca flour, natural flavor, garlic, guar gum, sea salt, yeast extract, lactic acid, black pepper, xanthan gum), parmesan and feta style cheeze blend (filtered water, tapioca flour, coconut oil, potato starch, expeller pressed safflower oil, salt, natural flavors, tricalcium phosphate, chickpea protein, lactic acid, pea protein, xanthan gum, fruit and/or vegetable juice color, konjac flour, yeast extract, enzyme), yellow bell peppers, kale, beyond meat italian sausage style crumbles (water, pea protein, expeller pressed canola oil, natural flavors, spices, salt, garlic, citric acid), onions, garlic.
Nutrition (per 1/2 flatbread): 340 calories, 11g fat, 56g carbs, 2g fiber, 2g sugars (includes 1g added sugars), 5g protein.*

Mushroom, Caramelized Onion and Fig Flatbread
This was awful. I was looking forward to eating this because I love all of the ingredients (mushrooms, figs, etc) but this has absolutely no flavor! None, zero. I’m not sure how something with these ingredients can be made to be tasteless, but this was. Thank goodness I only bought one! The GF crust was ok – obviously GF items are not nearly as good as their wheat-based counterparts, but I expected a lot of flavor from everything else and am really disappointed. 🙁
Good base
Both my husband and I thought these were pretty good. They’re not big, but we split one and have with a salad at lunch. We both like the creaminess of the sauce with the cheese alternative – it’s different, but good. The flavors just need a little more pop. Like sun-dried tomatoes, kalamata olives, etc. The toppings seem to lack contrast and punch, and just need a little something to jazz them up.
