A couple of years ago, I heard about this wonderful dairy-free chocolatier called Fames. But it wasn’t until this holiday season that I finally tried an assortment of their treats. They offer chocolates by the pound, pretty gift boxes, and party-worthy assortments. We enjoyed one of their large assortments, and I’m happy to report that every last bite was delicious!
Fames Chocolate Delivers with Dairy-Free Caramels, Creams, Clusters, and More
Unlike most chocolate makers, Fames is kosher parve and strictly dairy free. But that is their only limitation. They make nougats, chews, nutty patties, chocolate-covered treats, truffles, and more with the tastiest ingredients. I wouldn’t hesitate to share a box with friends and loved ones, dairy-free or not. Here are quick notes on some of the chocolates that we sampled (we ate them all before I wrote notes for each one!):
Vanilla Cinnamon Pretzels
I have always loved white chocolate pretzels, so I was most excited about these treats. Fortunately, they exceeded my expectations. Each salty pretzel had a thick coating of dairy-free white chocolate and was garnished with delicious cinnamon white chocolate. The only word to describe these is perfection.
Premium Coconut
Mounds bar fans will love these! They are over-sized bites of coconut filling coated in chocolate. While I loved all of the chocolates in this assortment, this was one that I kind of hoarded. I did share, a little.
Vanilla Truffle
These were everything you could hope for in a white chocolate truffle with milk chocolate cream filling. They were sweet, decadent, rich, and generously sized. I highly recommend this treat for fudge lovers. It’s one of those “I can’t believe it’s dairy-free” chocolates.
Marzipan
My husband who “hates marzipan” loved these. He ate almost all of them himself in days. When I told him they were marzipan chocolates and said “but you hate marzipan,” he said, “Yes, I do. But these are really good!” They tasted like marzipan to me, which I do like, so they must sprinkle some kind of magic pixie dust on these to win over professed marzipan haters.
White Coconut Caramel
Not a cocoa fan? Try these vanilla-forward, white chocolate, coconut filled, caramel-layered chocolates. They are more bite-sized than some of Fames other chocolates, but packed with flavor. I loved the textural contrast and the complementary ingredients.
Butter Blend
I’m pretty sure we had these, as the middle looked just like this, and they tasted like buttery chocolate truffles, but ours were round. Whatever they were, they were oh-so-luxurious and incredibly rich. Just one treat satiated.
Organic Hartee Bars
We also enjoyed a couple packages filled with Fames new snack bars, one with hazelnut granola and one with peanut granola. These are basically chewy dairy-free caramel bars with granola, finished with a chocolate dip and drizzle. They’re indulgent, yet somehow justifiable as a snack. They’re perfectly sized for a quick energizer (just 80 calories each) and are relatively low glycemic. But they definitely hit the sweet spot! I also thought they seemed like a good value with twelve per box.

One of my favorite chocolatiers
These are not skimpy assortments. They are filled to the brim with decadent treats that are unbelievably dairy free! My husband and I were fighting over some of them. Definitely buying these for gifts.
