In the past couple of years, So Delicious Cashew Milk Ice Cream has stepped into the shadows, letting Oat Milk Ice Cream bask in the limelight. But it’s still one of the creamiest, most beloved dairy-free frozen desserts on the market. And So Delicious hasn’t abandoned their cashew product line. In fact, they introduce a new flavor or two each year.
So Delicious constantly redesigns their packaging, so my pictures below have old packaging. But the ice cream inside looks the same. For the look of the new packaging, see the product images with the ingredients and nutrition facts.
Tasting Notes for So Delicious Dairy Free Cashew Milk Ice Cream
I’ve always enjoyed dairy-free ice cream – the many flavor nuances of different dreamy bases and the array of whole food ingredients. But my occasional treat escalated to full-blow, must-have cravings when So Delicious Cashew Milk Ice Cream hit the freezer aisle.
Their initial launch included five pint flavors. Over time, some flavors have come and gone, but this is the line-up you can currently find in the freezer section. I’ve included some of our tasting notes, but please do leave your own unbiased star rating and review below!
Very Vanilla
Interestingly enough, traditional vanilla and chocolate weren’t in the initial line-up of So Delicious cashew milk ice cream. Rather they came out in the second batch. The consistency of the vanilla is creamy and luxurious, without a speck of iciness, yet not overly heavy. The flavor is rich with a notable burst of sweet vanilla. It’s insanely versatile and will surely be a go to dairy-free ice cream for me.
Ingredients: cashewmilk (filtered water, cashews), cane sugar, organic coconut oil, organic tapioca syrup, pea protein, sea salt, guar gum, vanilla extract, natural flavors, locust bean gum. contains cashew, coconut.
Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 190 calories, 9g fat, 26g carbs, <1g fiber, 19g sugars (includes 19g added sugars), 2g protein.*
Creamy Chocolate
Unlike most So Delicious goodies, this cashew milk ice cream lacked the wow factor for us. It had that wonderful creamy base, and was good, but our tasters agreed that it wasn’t the flavor they would likely repurchase. I think it would serve it’s purpose in a sundae or ice cream sandwich. It just needs something to jazz it up.
Ingredients: cashewmilk (filtered water, cashews), sugar, organic coconut oil, cocoa (processed with alkali), pea protein, sea salt, locust bean gum, guar gum, natural flavor. contains cashew, coconut.
Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 220 calories, 13g fat, 25g carbs, 2g fiber, 21g sugars (includes 21g added sugars), 2g protein.*
Chocolate Cookies ‘n’ Cream
And here’s that chocolate, all jazzed up! This flavor was a spoons down, decadent winner. Big chocolate cookie chunks throughout made this cashew milk ice cream a luxurious experience. No one could possibly guess is dairy free.
Ingredients: cashewmilk (filtered water, cashews), sugar, creme cookie (cane sugar, tapioca flour, rice flour, palm oil, cocoa [processed with alkali], organic tapioca syrup, cassava flour, cocoa, potato flour, salt, sunflower lecithin, natural flavor, baking soda, xanthan gum), organic coconut oil, cocoa (processed with alkali), pea protein, sea salt, locust bean gum, guar gum, natural flavor. contains cashew, coconut.
Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 250 calories, 13g fat, 33g carbs, 2g fiber, 25g sugars (includes 24g added sugars), 3g protein.*
Snickerdoodle
As the first spoonful began to melt on my tongue, I thought “what’s snickerdoodle about th… ooohhh… there it is!” Those spot on cinnamon cookie flavors sneak up but then escalate into a full blown sugar rush. Over the top amazing! Generous bites of gluten-free snickerdoodle cookie dough even pop up periodically.
Ingredients: cashewmilk (filtered water, cashews), cane sugar, snickerdoodle dough (brown sugar, rice flour, vegetable oil [palm, canola], water, sugar, tapioca dextrin, guar gum, natural flavors, sea salt, cinnamon, baking soda), organic coconut oil, organic tapioca syrup, pea protein, cinnamon, sea salt, organic gum acacia, guar gum, natural flavor, locust bean gum. contains cashew, coconut.
Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 240 calories, 11g fat, 34g carbs, <1g fiber, 24g sugars (includes 23g added sugars), 3g protein.*
Salted Caramel Cluster
This flavor used to be the creamy cashew base layered with thick ribbons of dairy-free caramel and dotted with chocolate-covered whole cashews and cashew pieces. However, the reintroduced version lacked the chocolate-covered cashews. Instead it has thin drizzles of caramel, chocolate pieces and chunks of cashew. It’s still delicious in its own right with lots of interesting bits, but admittedly, we miss the original version.
Ingredients: cashewmilk (filtered water, cashews), cane sugar, caramel sauce (organic tapioca syrup, water, pea protein, organic molasses, natural flavor, organic cocoa butter, sodium citrate, salt, pectin), chocolate chip (cane sugar, organic coconut oil, cocoa, chocolate liquor, natural vanilla flavor), organic coconut oil, organic tapioca syrup, roasted cashews (cashews, canola oil), pea protein, sea salt, guar gum, natural flavor, locust bean gum. contains cashew, coconut.
Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 250 calories, 13g fat, 32g carbs, <1g fiber, 23g sugars (includes 20g added sugars), 3g protein.*
Dark Chocolate Truffle
Passionately rich, denser and more intense than the others, this cashew milk ice cream flavor has a decadent chocoholic vibe, from organic fair trade cocoa, and ample dairy-free, soy-free chocolate shards.
Ingredients: cashewmilk (filtered water, cashews), sugar, organic fudge sauce (organic cane sugar, water, organic cocoa [processed with alkali], organic tapioca starch, organic chocolate liquor), organic coconut oil, chocolate flake (cane sugar, organic coconut oil, cocoa, chocolate liquor, natural vanilla flavor), organic cocoa (processed with alkali), organic tapioca syrup, pea protein, sea salt, locust bean gum, guar gum. contains cashew, coconut.
Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 250 calories, 15g fat, 30g carbs, 2g fiber, 23g sugars (includes 23g added sugars), 3g protein.*
Chocolate Drizzled Bananas Foster
Tony really liked this chocolate-covered banana delight. It’s definitely banana forward, but with a creaminess and indulgence level that makes it a true dairy-free ice cream instead of “nice cream.”
Ingredients: cashewmilk (filtered water, cashews), cane sugar, organic coconut oil, banana swirl (banana puree, filtered water, brown sugar, organic cane sugar, corn starch, caramel color, natural flavor, ascorbic acid, locust bean gum, cinnamon), chocolate drizzle (cane sugar, organic coconut oil, cocoa, chocolate liquor, natural vanilla flavor), organic tapioca syrup, pea protein, natural flavor, sea salt, locust bean gum, guar gum. contains cashew, coconut.
Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 240 calories, 13g fat, 29g carbs, <1g fiber, 23g sugars (includes 22g added sugars), 2g protein.*
Peanut Butter Brownie
They snuck this flavor onto store shelves in 2021. smooth peanut butter cashewmilk ice cream with brownie bits. A new take on the classic peanut butter cup!
Ingredients: cashewmilk (filtered water, cashews), cane sugar, organic coconut oil, peanuts, rice flour, organic tapioca syrup, peanut oil, invert sugar, palm oil, cocoa, pea protein, sea salt, cocoa (processed with alkali), chocolate liquor, canola oil, guar gum, locust bean gum, salt, natural flavor, cocoa butter, vanilla extract. contains cashew, coconut, peanut.
Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 330 calories, 20g fat, 34g carbs, 2g fiber, 25g sugars (includes 24g added sugars), 4g protein.*
Discontinued Flavors
Over the years, So Delicious has discontinued their Cappuccino, Creamy Cashew (sniff, sniff), and Peachy Maple Pecan (still produced for Canada) Cashew Milk Ice Cream flavors.

Great products
I really enjoy So Delicious ice creams. I wish they would bring back their organic almond milk. I would also like to know the glyphosate amounts in the almond milk ice cream. I eat a lot of the peanut butter brownie flavor and would appreciate knowing what I am consuming besides ice cream that is tasting good.
So cashew ice cream
Great taste, very creamy. Wish they could reduce the saturated fat for people without gallbladders it’s hard to digest.
Cheese
I just found So Delicious American cheese and for the first time in years I am able to enjoy a grilled cheese sandwich. THANK YOU !! I love all of your products. THANK YOU !!!
Amazing flavors
My favorite is Salted Caramel Cluster…truly lives up to the name…”So Delicious,” but the price is crazy high. $5.50 – $7.00 for one pint of dessert? I wait til it goes on sale, which is infrequent, but otherwise you’re paying between 17 and 22 cents a tablespoon.
A real treat
This frozen desert is so delicious and appreciated as I am allergic to cows milk. It’s creamy and tasty; all flavors are good.
High
I love this thank you for creating something that taste so amazing being dairy free
Unbelievable
I am VERY picky on my ice cream and my chocolate! (I am 5 mos into the plant based diet.) I don’t like coconut but I gave a try of 6 different companies & their coconut ice cream, including Trader Joes. With my taste buds they were all terrible. Too sweet and I could taste too much of the coconut. I thought a find would be hopeless but then I tried your Double Chocolate delight dipped bars…… oh my gosh, perfect!! I highly recommend trying this!!!! I’m looking forward to trying the Dark Chocolate Truffle!
I have looked and looked and So Delicious is the best
So Delicious cashew milk non dairy ice cream is the best I have found. It is thick and creamy, and the flavors are amazing. I love the snickerdoodle and salted caramel cluster the best. I just wish all of the flavors were equally available!
The best dairy free ice cream ever!
I love this stuff! Very vanilla is my favorite as I can’t have chocolate so please don’t ever get rid of it or change it up as it’s perfect the way it is. It has so much yummy flavor that it doesn’t need anything else. Just eat it plain. Thank you so much for making this alternative:)

My granddaughter is a big fan! Fionna is very enthusiastic for the chocolate cashew! We have a photograph of her eating it and it’s terrific!
I am addicted to the Dark Chocolate Truffle, with its base of “milky” chocolate, and the flecks of dark chocolate that give it just the right amount of texture. It is ecstasy! Vegan relatives introduced me to it, and I like it better than any flavour of dairy ice cream. My sister-in-law loves the salted caramel cashew cluster. I can’t wait to try the snickerdoodle as that’s my favourite cookie.
I love this icecream I would love to have it in a gallon or even a 5gal this is so good and I wonder if they make strawberry, hazelnut, that would be awesome love this product Finley I can eat ice cream hopefully next I can eat some nochocheeses!!!!!!♡♡♡♡
The creamy cashew is very tasteful but it is scarce, i cant seem to find it anymore. Did tyey stop making it?
Heavens no! It’s way too popular and not going out any time soon. That’s the problem though. They have had some trouble keeping up with demand. Check your local Walmart (they usually have some stock), Whole Foods, natural food stores, and they are getting into some other conventional retailers slowly.
The new version of Salted Caramel Cluster is so disappointing. I couldn’t get enough of the original recipe. The chocolate covered cashews were the star of the original. The large pieces of plain cashew and the thin shavings of chocolate are an unsatisfying substitute.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks the new version of the Salted Caramel Cluster is not as good!
I remember being excited when I saw it back on the shelves, buying it, taking it home, then being disappointed by how it looks and tastes!
If anyone from So Delicious reads this, please bring back the original version!
Do y’all make any of the cashewmilk ice creams sugar free ?
I don’t think they have any sugar-free cashew milk ones yet (just coconut) Kara, but you can email them to request!
I’ve been told is this the best of the best! ha! I still need to try their sugar free coconut milk ice cream!
It is THE best! Just had some of the dark chocolate truffle last night – it’s insane!

I love the Cashew Milk Ice Cream. It is so much creamier and softer than it’s sister product So Delicious Coconut Milk Ice Cream! I have only tried the Salted Caramel Cluster but really who needs any other flavor because this one is DA’BOMB!
I can not express what JOY this Snickerdoodle ice cream brings me!!!! I have Dairy and Gluten allergies and one of the things I miss the most is ice cream, even in the winter. I am glad that the local grocery carries it, now if I can get the Soda Fountain Drug Store here in town to carry some the would be INCREDIBLE!!!
I’m eating the snicker doodle right now and I am in love! I cannot believe it is dairy free! It is amazing! I got the last container at Vons.
Oh, there are many others mourning that empty shelf at Von’s, so glad you are enjoying it Jennifer 🙂

The snicker doodle taste nothing like snickers and too much cinnamon. I didn’t enjoy this one.
Hi Mary, you might want too google Snickerdoodle! It’s a cinnamon type of cookie – quite different from a Snickers candy bar. If you’re a chocolate caramel fan, I would try the Chocolate Caramel Cluster instead 🙂
Anything involving sweet cinnamon is usually addicting to me and this cashew ice cream is phenomenal. One of my all time favorite vegan sweets!
Just tried Snickerdoodle…this Cashew Milk ice cream is in league of its own!…would never have known it was dairy free if someone served to me. Just wrote my health food store to carry it…must try each flavor…imagine the chocolate truffle paired withe salted caramel.
They are ALL amazing Deb – you will love them! The Creamy Cashew is my new staple.
Our area in eastern PA is now experiencing our second shortage of Salted Caramel. I am happy to have Chocolate Truffle as an alternative, but several months ago, soon after the Salted Caramel disappeared the first time, the CT ran out as well, so I am expecting that is already happening again as I write this. The only other option in our local stores (Giant, Wegman’s) is the plain Creamy Cashew which is good, but much easier to resist. Are the Salted Caramel and the Chocolate Truffle only made once every 3 months or so?
I have no idea Tom! I’m sure they are made in batches, but I have a feeling they just keep running out! The stuff is so amazing.
I can’t get Salted Carmel anywhere! Anyone who caries it sells out immediately!
THE SALTED CARAMEL IS TO DIE FOR!!!! This is the greatest ice cream I’ve had since I had to go dairy free. I can’t get enough of it. It is as good as Ben and Jerry’s Steven Colbert’s Americone Dream. If I could eat dairy again tomorrow I would STILL buy this. That’s how good this is. Can’t wait to try the snickerdoodle.
Agreed! And trust me, you will LOVE the Snickerdoodle!!
