In the past couple of years, So Delicious Cashew Milk Ice Cream has stepped into the shadows, letting Oat Milk Ice Cream bask in the limelight. But it’s still one of the creamiest, most beloved dairy-free frozen desserts on the market. And So Delicious hasn’t abandoned their cashew product line. In fact, they introduce a new flavor or two each year.
So Delicious constantly redesigns their packaging, so my pictures below have old packaging. But the ice cream inside looks the same. For the look of the new packaging, see the product images with the ingredients and nutrition facts.
Tasting Notes for So Delicious Dairy Free Cashew Milk Ice Cream
I’ve always enjoyed dairy-free ice cream – the many flavor nuances of different dreamy bases and the array of whole food ingredients. But my occasional treat escalated to full-blow, must-have cravings when So Delicious Cashew Milk Ice Cream hit the freezer aisle.
Their initial launch included five pint flavors. Over time, some flavors have come and gone, but this is the line-up you can currently find in the freezer section. I’ve included some of our tasting notes, but please do leave your own unbiased star rating and review below!
Very Vanilla
Interestingly enough, traditional vanilla and chocolate weren’t in the initial line-up of So Delicious cashew milk ice cream. Rather they came out in the second batch. The consistency of the vanilla is creamy and luxurious, without a speck of iciness, yet not overly heavy. The flavor is rich with a notable burst of sweet vanilla. It’s insanely versatile and will surely be a go to dairy-free ice cream for me.
Ingredients: cashewmilk (filtered water, cashews), cane sugar, organic coconut oil, organic tapioca syrup, pea protein, sea salt, guar gum, vanilla extract, natural flavors, locust bean gum. contains cashew, coconut.
Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 190 calories, 9g fat, 26g carbs, <1g fiber, 19g sugars (includes 19g added sugars), 2g protein.*
Creamy Chocolate
Unlike most So Delicious goodies, this cashew milk ice cream lacked the wow factor for us. It had that wonderful creamy base, and was good, but our tasters agreed that it wasn’t the flavor they would likely repurchase. I think it would serve it’s purpose in a sundae or ice cream sandwich. It just needs something to jazz it up.
Ingredients: cashewmilk (filtered water, cashews), sugar, organic coconut oil, cocoa (processed with alkali), pea protein, sea salt, locust bean gum, guar gum, natural flavor. contains cashew, coconut.
Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 220 calories, 13g fat, 25g carbs, 2g fiber, 21g sugars (includes 21g added sugars), 2g protein.*
Chocolate Cookies ‘n’ Cream
And here’s that chocolate, all jazzed up! This flavor was a spoons down, decadent winner. Big chocolate cookie chunks throughout made this cashew milk ice cream a luxurious experience. No one could possibly guess is dairy free.
Ingredients: cashewmilk (filtered water, cashews), sugar, creme cookie (cane sugar, tapioca flour, rice flour, palm oil, cocoa [processed with alkali], organic tapioca syrup, cassava flour, cocoa, potato flour, salt, sunflower lecithin, natural flavor, baking soda, xanthan gum), organic coconut oil, cocoa (processed with alkali), pea protein, sea salt, locust bean gum, guar gum, natural flavor. contains cashew, coconut.
Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 250 calories, 13g fat, 33g carbs, 2g fiber, 25g sugars (includes 24g added sugars), 3g protein.*
Snickerdoodle
As the first spoonful began to melt on my tongue, I thought “what’s snickerdoodle about th… ooohhh… there it is!” Those spot on cinnamon cookie flavors sneak up but then escalate into a full blown sugar rush. Over the top amazing! Generous bites of gluten-free snickerdoodle cookie dough even pop up periodically.
Ingredients: cashewmilk (filtered water, cashews), cane sugar, snickerdoodle dough (brown sugar, rice flour, vegetable oil [palm, canola], water, sugar, tapioca dextrin, guar gum, natural flavors, sea salt, cinnamon, baking soda), organic coconut oil, organic tapioca syrup, pea protein, cinnamon, sea salt, organic gum acacia, guar gum, natural flavor, locust bean gum. contains cashew, coconut.
Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 240 calories, 11g fat, 34g carbs, <1g fiber, 24g sugars (includes 23g added sugars), 3g protein.*
Salted Caramel Cluster
This flavor used to be the creamy cashew base layered with thick ribbons of dairy-free caramel and dotted with chocolate-covered whole cashews and cashew pieces. However, the reintroduced version lacked the chocolate-covered cashews. Instead it has thin drizzles of caramel, chocolate pieces and chunks of cashew. It’s still delicious in its own right with lots of interesting bits, but admittedly, we miss the original version.
Ingredients: cashewmilk (filtered water, cashews), cane sugar, caramel sauce (organic tapioca syrup, water, pea protein, organic molasses, natural flavor, organic cocoa butter, sodium citrate, salt, pectin), chocolate chip (cane sugar, organic coconut oil, cocoa, chocolate liquor, natural vanilla flavor), organic coconut oil, organic tapioca syrup, roasted cashews (cashews, canola oil), pea protein, sea salt, guar gum, natural flavor, locust bean gum. contains cashew, coconut.
Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 250 calories, 13g fat, 32g carbs, <1g fiber, 23g sugars (includes 20g added sugars), 3g protein.*
Dark Chocolate Truffle
Passionately rich, denser and more intense than the others, this cashew milk ice cream flavor has a decadent chocoholic vibe, from organic fair trade cocoa, and ample dairy-free, soy-free chocolate shards.
Ingredients: cashewmilk (filtered water, cashews), sugar, organic fudge sauce (organic cane sugar, water, organic cocoa [processed with alkali], organic tapioca starch, organic chocolate liquor), organic coconut oil, chocolate flake (cane sugar, organic coconut oil, cocoa, chocolate liquor, natural vanilla flavor), organic cocoa (processed with alkali), organic tapioca syrup, pea protein, sea salt, locust bean gum, guar gum. contains cashew, coconut.
Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 250 calories, 15g fat, 30g carbs, 2g fiber, 23g sugars (includes 23g added sugars), 3g protein.*
Chocolate Drizzled Bananas Foster
Tony really liked this chocolate-covered banana delight. It’s definitely banana forward, but with a creaminess and indulgence level that makes it a true dairy-free ice cream instead of “nice cream.”
Ingredients: cashewmilk (filtered water, cashews), cane sugar, organic coconut oil, banana swirl (banana puree, filtered water, brown sugar, organic cane sugar, corn starch, caramel color, natural flavor, ascorbic acid, locust bean gum, cinnamon), chocolate drizzle (cane sugar, organic coconut oil, cocoa, chocolate liquor, natural vanilla flavor), organic tapioca syrup, pea protein, natural flavor, sea salt, locust bean gum, guar gum. contains cashew, coconut.
Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 240 calories, 13g fat, 29g carbs, <1g fiber, 23g sugars (includes 22g added sugars), 2g protein.*
Peanut Butter Brownie
They snuck this flavor onto store shelves in 2021. smooth peanut butter cashewmilk ice cream with brownie bits. A new take on the classic peanut butter cup!
Ingredients: cashewmilk (filtered water, cashews), cane sugar, organic coconut oil, peanuts, rice flour, organic tapioca syrup, peanut oil, invert sugar, palm oil, cocoa, pea protein, sea salt, cocoa (processed with alkali), chocolate liquor, canola oil, guar gum, locust bean gum, salt, natural flavor, cocoa butter, vanilla extract. contains cashew, coconut, peanut.
Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 330 calories, 20g fat, 34g carbs, 2g fiber, 25g sugars (includes 24g added sugars), 4g protein.*
Discontinued Flavors
Over the years, So Delicious has discontinued their Cappuccino, Creamy Cashew (sniff, sniff), and Peachy Maple Pecan (still produced for Canada) Cashew Milk Ice Cream flavors.

wishing for more and larger containers and sugar free
this is the best “ice cream” I can find but I wish it was sugar free or low sugar as I am a diabetic and allergic to almonds.
I love it
Nothing else compares (for me)
When I thought I couldn’t have ice-cream again, I was devastated! Then came So-Delicious. The coconut-based flavors were OK (at least I could have ice-cream again) but then came the cashew-based flavors. I’m in heaven! I’m elated! I’m going to get too fat!! The flavors are great, and although the pints are a little pricey, they are worth it when you are having an ice-cream hankering fit. Nothing else quite compares!!
These people are exaggerating, but not lying. This ice cream is super good.
I mean when people say dairy free ice cream tastes the same, or even better, I’m like stop lying. However, I still bought the chocolate cookies and cream because dairy kills me. I am amazed at this ice cream to be honest. Yes, you can still taste that difference, but the cookies part really distracts your brain from that taste and it’s so good. I will definitely be sticking with this brand. So so good.
Almost divine
Would benefit from MORE caramel and LESS chunks of chocolate. Otherwise perfect. Excessive chocolate splinters impede the enjoyment of the product.
Better than real ice cream!!!!
I LOVE ICE CREAM!!!! I recently went dairy free to see how it affects me. I figured that would help me slow down on the ice cream intake… and then I found So Delicious Salted Caramel Cluster ??. It is probably my favorite ice cream flavor EVER. It’s rich and creamy and I think I’m in trouble!!!
Creamy to the end
Ice cream has to be creamy all the way to the bottom of the carton regardless how many times you’ve served from the container. This ice cream is great–creamy to the last lick. Even the vanilla is great without sauces or fruit on top, and it allows me to meet everyone’s flavor preferences. The only time this ice cream has crystals is when it’s thawed too much and refrozen. But that’s not the ice cream’s fault. The only way this could be improved is to create a sugar free variety.
Salted caramel is my go to flavor
Just give it a try. You won’t go back to regular ice cream!!
Non milk vanilla
Rich, creamy and very satisfying
Chocolate Truffle
My go to .every. night.
Peach Maple Pecan
The most delicious dairy free ice cream. Smooth , creamy and alot of maple flavor. FANTASTIC!

This is one of the best ice-creams I’ve had since going dairy free. I love my ice-cream and thought my life would be without forever…..so sad. Then I found out about So-Delicious brand. Every type they make is wonderful and satisfying – creamy, smooth, everything that true, rich ice-cream should be. It’s not ice-milky. It’s so creamy and delicious. Great name for the products too!! The Salted Caramel is divine as is the Decadent Chocolate. The soy-milk types of ice-cream are wonderful too. Try them all and find your favorite. Now I can have ice-cream anytime I want it…..which is all the time! Thanks, So Delicious. You’ve created a life-long fan in me!!
I like the soy milk ones, too, Dianne. I think they are underloved! But these Cashew Milk Ice Creams are the best!
I can only find these at Whole Foods 45 minutes away from home. It was well worth my efforts to pack it and take some snickerdoodle home with me a few weeks ago! Creamy, slightly sweet with believable chunks of snickerdoodle cookie dough – what’s not to love? IMO, this is vastly preferrable to coconut milk, rice milk, and almond milk based non-dairy ice creams.
Agreed, worth bringing an ice pack for!
My Kroger just started carrying these and while there are a little expensive, they are not bad if you can catch them on sale and pace yourself! When I ate dairy, coffee ice cream was always a favorite so I started with the Cappuccino flavor. It was good but did not seem markedly better than some of the other non-cashew So Delicious flavors. Then I tried the Snickerdoodle and it seems like the best ice cream I have ever had. It is a little bit crispy with cinnamon and the chunks of cookie dough are delicious. My husband will even eat it and he is usually wary about non-dairy products. 🙂
Agreed, it’s pretty amazing. We actually love the “plain” Creamy Cashew, too!
This concoction is so wonderful, it has helped turn my lacto ovo boyfriend off dairy ice cream! He’s never really liked any of the non-dairy options before. So thankful!!!
Favorites are the Snickerdoodle and the Chocolate crunch one!
Seriously, it’s that good! My husband eats up every flavor!
I just got the cappuccino one, since I’ve been having a tiramisu-like craving lately. OMG! This is sooooooo good! And it’s so simply-made! I would lessen the cinnamon they put in there, but man, I love what I’m tasting.
Only downside is the price; but ice cream supposed to be a once-in-a-long-while treat anyways.
Agreed – I think the slight premium price tag is the only thing that keeps me from downing 2 pints a week 🙂

I tried the Snickerdoodle one last week and found it amazingly delicious! I will look for one of the other flavors when I go shopping tomorrow – The Chocolate Truffle sounds good to me! Actually, they all do, but I think I want to try this one next!
I think I might even like this ice cream better than the So Delicious Coconut Ice Cream – which used to be my favorite non-dairy ice cream!
Omg! I can’t find that cashew milk salty caramel clusters anywhere. I got it once from my local Target next day sold out and never seen it again. I need this in my life now.. Lol
I know, I actually had a wave of panic last night about them not being able to supply enough cashew ice cream 🙂
I am working on my review of this AMAZING stuff! Just have to second everything Alisa says about this product. Unreal!!! In love!
Ooh, can’t wait to see your post!
ALISA! After your review, I went hunting and found it at Sprouts. All I can say is AMAZING! Even the dairy eaters loved it and not in the condescending, “oh this is nice for you since you can’t have dairy” way. Decadent, rich, delicious but not heavy. Thx again, you haven’t steered me wrong ever.
So glad you found and liked it Sylvia! I’m almost out myself and need to head to the store for more – it’s addicting!
Is Diabetic or Sugar Free Cashew Ice Cream?
They have some coconut milk ice creams that are no sugar added and almond milk ice cream that is low sugar. The cashew ones are not.
Oh my goodness! I want to try every single one of those flavors! These are going to be a really, really big hit for sure. Can’t wait to see if Wegmans carries them! Thanks for sharing, Alisa. 🙂
Shirley
Seriously Shirley, they are AMAZING! No exaggeration here 🙂
omg i cant wait to try it

Where can I found these, I live in Washington state
I’m not sure! They have a store finder on the So Delicious website here Ruby – http://bit.ly/1vi8SUi – These are brand new, just rolling out to stores now!
Will you be selling these in Australia?
I don’t know if they will Amelia, I’m not affiliated with So Delicious, this is a third party review. You can contact them directly or check their store finder though: http://bit.ly/1vi8SUi
OH MY GOODNESS, I really hope my Whole Foods carries these.
They should! If not now, then very soon 🙂
Found them today at Whole Foods! So excited! 🙂 I bought every flavor except for Cappuccino (I’m not a coffee person).
Me neither! I hope you enjoy! All the rest are amazing I think, but be warned that the fudgy one is intense 🙂
Thank you for the warning! I won’t try that flavor first then, haha 😀 Any suggestion on which flavor to try first though? I plan to finally try one of the flavors this weekend (I’m an obsessive meal planner, sorry), and I’m not sure which one to start with… although I was thinking about the Snickerdoodle one.
I’m all about starting with the “baseline” flavor first to get a feel for the product – which would be the Creamy Cashew (which is now my go-to staple!) – but, you can’t go wrong with the Snickerdoodle either!
Excellent advice! I will go with the Creamy Cashew or Snickerdoodle then, to begin. I’m too excited about the ice cream, haha 😀 Thank you for always providing genuine reviews and advice, Alisa!
