Please Note: This brand was formerly known as just "Peanut Better" but it is now sold under the Sunland name, but with the same formulas.
The Cinnamon and Currant Peanut Better was trialed purely for snacking. I believe the delicate flavors would likely be lost if used for cooking or baking. We slathered it on fresh baked bread, rice cakes, and apple slices. One of my standby snacks is bread or rice cakes slathered with peanut butter, honey, and sprinkled with cinnamon. When I travel, this mix can be hard to come by though. Now I can just pop a jar of the Cinnamon and Currant Peanut Better in my carry on, and I am ready to go.
Not only did this peanut butter take all of the labor out of my snacking, it also saved me 5 grams in sugar. A nutrient that I surely get plenty of! I tried it stirred into my oatmeal (as recommended on the jar), but the flavors were definitely lost in the mix.
One of our tasters felt this peanut butter had too much of a honey taste for their liking, even though the product contains only organic peanuts, currants, sugar, and cinnamon oil. I must admit it did taste very reminiscent of my peanut butter-honey snacks, but for me, that means two thumbs up. I would love to try it stirred into maple syrup as a pancake topper, but alas, we polished off the jar today.
