    Uncle Sam Instant Oatmeal (DISCONTINUED)

    0
By Alisa Fleming on November 2, 2009 Discontinued Products

Uncle Sam Instant Oatmeal is no longer available, but you can still buy Uncle Sam Cereal. And Nature’s Path Instant Oatmeal still comes in several dairy-free flavors.

Uncle Sam Instant Oatmeal packs in a really nice, whole grain flavor combination. The wheat flakes are a bit softer than the oats, and add a little contrasting color to the ordinary bland look of instant oats. I heated up two packets for each of us, and tossed in just a handful of raisins, several shakes of cinnamon, and the smallest pinch of salt to bring out that cinnamon flavor. The resultant breakfast really was perfect. Warm, comforting, and just slightly sweet from the wheat and raisins; no sugar added and no sugar needed.

    Uncle Sam Instant Oatmeal

For some reason the oats with wheat didn’t weigh as heavy on my stomach as the oats only cereal, even though the portion size was nearly identical. Another plus in my book!

Uncle Sam Instant Oatmeal Ingredients: Whole grain rolled oats, whole wheat flakes, ground flaxseed.
