Tasting Notes for Drew’s All Natural Dressing and Marinade
Thai Sesame Lime
This aptly named vinaigrette combines the sharp tang or lime with a very mellow base. Although it is filled with a myriad of flavors from organic coconut to toasted sesame oil to Dijon mustard, the end result is quite a simple taste. Canola oil, rice wine vinegar, and lime juice were most the prominent in taste. Although subtle notes of sesame and ginger could be detected at times. As a marinade for chicken, our tasters could not detect anything additional. Overall, we liked the Thai Sesame Lime dressing best for raw or very lightly cooked applications where the flavors were not altered. Personally, I enjoyed it most on a hot day over a fresh mixed green salad with crisp cucumbers and tomatoes.

This fresh tasting vinaigrette has a very strong, but pleasant balsamic flavor. Although understated, the rosemary flavor was still detectable. We enjoyed this naturally bold mix, as a little seemed to go a long ways. We trialed it as a chicken breast marinade on two occasions. On its own, the flavor was only subtly there. However, on the second occasion we served it atop a salad with an additional touch of the Rosemary Balsamic Dressing. The result was delicious.
In my opinion, this dressing truly shines as a flavorful addition to most salad and vegetable dishes. But by far my favorite use was in a simple pasta salad. I combined just 2 Tablespoons of this dressing with two servings of cooked whole-wheat pasta, solid albacore tuna, olives, tomatoes, and fresh spinach, and served it immediately. It was fabulous! I believe Drew’s Rosemary Balsamic Vinaigrette would be excellent for roasting diced potatoes and vegetables, as well as for dressing up a rosemary potato salad. It seems I will need to buy another bottle in order to try these dishes out!

Chef Drew has selected an excellent medium to display his culinary talents. The ingredients used in his Raspberry Vinaigrette are simple and few. The flavors were bold, yet very complimentary and refreshing. We loved the all-natural raspberry flavor, and found the overall vinaigrette to be reminiscent of a “from scratch” house dressing in a chic restaurant. The sweet vinegar taste led me to believe that it would be very high in sugars. Too my pleasant surprise, one Tablespoon had just 30 calories, 2 grams of fat (zero saturated), and only 2 grams of sugar. This is an excellent dressing and marinade selection for most diets. In fact, we enjoyed it guilt-free on various fresh green salads.
