Essential Living Foods Chocolate-Covered Superfoods (DISCONTINUED)

Essential Living Foods is still around, but they no longer make these Chocolate-Covered Superfoods. They do still make Essential Living Foods Superfood Smoothie Mixes.

My search is over. For years I’ve been reading every chocolate-covered treat label in the hopes of unearthing a dairy-free gem to share. Though dairy-free dark chocolate bars abound, no one wanted to make a chocolate coating without milk. But at last I’ve found Essential Living Foods Chocolate-Covered Superfoods …

Tasting Notes for Essential Living Foods Chocolate-Covered Superfoods

Mmm, these healthy indulgences put chocolate-covered cherries and espresso beans to shame! Both the Goji Berries and Cacao Nibs offer an amazing grown-up treat with a deep dark chocolate coating (maybe 70 to 75% cacao). These chocolate-covered superfoods are made with pure, organic, raw ingredients which equates to no waxy coating taste and no dairy ingredients.

Essential Living Foods Chocolate-Covered Superfoods - Goji Berries and Cacao Nibs (organic, raw, vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free)

The Goji Berries (the larger ovals in the picture above) are tender (not dried out at all as goji berries can be) and go very, very nicely with the dark chocolate. The Cacao Nibs (the small rounds in the picture above) are rich and enticing with a nice crunch and a double dose of cacao intensity. The nibs are great for snacking, but also a fun surprise to add to no bake cookies, trail mix, or sprinkled on top of vegan ice cream. I’d never thought of myself as a goji berry or cacao nib fan, but Essential Living Foods has made me a convert.

Essential Living Foods Chocolate-Covered Superfoods - Goji Berries and Cacao Nibs (organic, raw, vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free)As a side note, I adore the packaging for these chocolate-covered superfoods. Essential Living Foods uses “eco-packaging” that is 100% recyclable, yet completely practical. The outer packages are nice enough to gift, and quite sturdy, with an easy open and close flap. Inside, the chocolate-covered superfoods are kept fresh in zippered pouches.
