The food industry is flooded with dairy-free milks and creamers, but some other dairy substitute categories are still under-represented. Good Karma Plant-Based Sour Cream aims to reduce this discrepancy. It’s a top food allergy-friendly sour cream substitute that’s reportedly great for topping and baking, and is used as the base for their new creamy dips.
Most dairy-free sour cream alternatives have a flavor or texture that’s slightly off, but Good Karma is promising a smooth, creamy consistency with no funny aftertaste. When you get the chance to try it, leave your own rating and review below. Let us know if you think they hit the mark.
Good Karma Plant-Based Sour Cream is a Cultured Dairy Alternative
Unlike other brands, Good Karma’s dairy-free sour cream is free of cashews, soy, and carrageenan. It’s also made via a traditional culturing process with live and active cultures for a more authentic flavor that retains some probiotic power.

Delicious
I have been reading the reviews for the Good Karma Plant Based sour cream, and have been curious about its’ taste, so I decided to try it myself, and glad that I did, it does have a smooth, cream, taste with a hint of yogurt, in my opinion that’s what makes it really good, I love the flavor, the texture, the fact it doesn’t taste like other dairy free sour creams that have this bland cardboard taste, or some that have no flavor whatsoever, Good Karma has definitely gained a life long fan right here
More like butter than sour cream
I can handle the texture, I am all for PB sour cream, but the smell: butter, the taste: butter, the horrible feeling in your stomach after ingestion: butter.
Also tried mixing it with so many other things to get rid of the butter taste and it’s still awful.
I can’t imagine a tofu based sour cream is worse than this.
Off
Threw it away. Had a weird taste I can’t quite put my finger on. What a waste
Not good
This is the worst non-dairy sour cream I’ve ever had. It doesn’t look smell or taste like sour cream. Getting refund.
Great Mixed
Eating this on its own is horrifying. After spooning some in the top of chili, I licked the spoon and totally thought I had ruined my chili by adding it. Once I took a bite of it with the plant-based sour cream mixed in, it was totally fine and I really couldn’t tell too much of difference from regular light sour cream. I’m giving it 4 stars because 3.5 isn’t available.
It's better than I thought
Compared to others that contain tofu…this is way closer to a sour cream taste. I recently tried another brand and determined that I will be purchasing Good Karma from now on.
Better substitute than other PB sour creams - gettin' there
Tried this at VegFest and bought some at Kroger. I really like it on baked potatoes and made mushroom stroganoff with it. Didn’t notice an aftertaste and I liked it. The other brands have the weird aftertaste. I also bought onion dip but didn’t care for that so much. Didn’t try the Ranch dressing.
Absolutely Delicious & Versatile
Absolutely delicious and versatile. Highly recommend. Wish all store that carry GOOD KARMA creations would carry this too. Too few so have to make special trips. But worth it.
The Best flavor of all the substitute Sour Creams I have tried!
Perfect to make dips?
It smelled like sour cream
It smelled like sour cream and taste like yogurt. It was sweet, which I believe is the opposite of sour. Ruined a perfectly good Chipotle burrito.
