Heidi Ho Cheeze Dips Make a Plant-Powered Comeback

You might remember Heidi Ho from Shark Tank. Back in 2014 Lori Greiner invested in the dairy-free cheese alternative company. Every shark agreed that Heidi Ho tasted great, but it was the energetic founder, Heidi Lovig, that made the QVC queen bite.

At first, there was a surge of Heidi Ho in stores. But then their shelf space slowly slipped away, until no one could find this beloved veggie-cashew cheese alternative. Fortunately, the brand didn’t go under, and they have regrouped. Heidi Ho Cheeze Dips have resurfaced in the Pacific Northwest and several major stores.

You might recall some “No Chevre” flavors from Heidi Ho. Alas, those goat cheese-inspired varieties have been discontinued. We’ve heard that Heidi reformulated a bit, but the three new flavors (below) are still made with her famous vegetable, cashew, and chia seed base.

Having to be gluten and dairy free is not easy. This is a great alternative for not missing pasta, nachos, yummy casserole, etc

I bought this, brought it home, removed the outer carton and saw that there was MOLD inside the (still) sealed package. And the best by date wasn’t for another 3 1/2 weeks. So there was no reason why there should be mold.

I contacted them through email and sent pictures of the MOLDY PRODUCT, but they never answered my email.

It is actually the first vegan cheese I’d ever bought so it was a pretty bad first experience haha! Hopefully other brands don’t disappoint like this one did.

I have tried the creamy flavor and I really like it as a nacho dips, my kids do too. I have tried it with mac and cheese as well but it’s more spicy I think than traditional mac and cheese. I liked it but my family didn’t so much as mac and cheese. But two thumbs up for a nacho cheese dip!

This looks nice! I haven’t tried it personally but I agree with Rebecca, the flavour options is a nice touch. I could do so much with these products!

    4. Megan on March 23, 2017 9:24 am

I so wish my boys could do nuts. It seems there are some really great nut cheese options. Looks great.

    5. Nicole Dawson on March 22, 2017 7:09 pm

I can’t say I’ve tried this either, due to a nut allergy, but I love that the ingredient list includes REAL foods.

    6. Amanda on March 22, 2017 6:55 pm

I look forward to hearing what you think of this brand once you have a chance to try it. I love all the flavors.

    7. Erica on March 22, 2017 5:00 pm

I really like this cheese a lot! I bought a bunch of it, and then the next time when I bought a few at a new store, I opened it up and they had mold inside. I contacted them and they were SO great about it and sent me a bunch of free coupons. It’s so awesome to have a company take a negative moment (most likely the store’s improper handling), and making it better!

      • Alisa Fleming on March 23, 2017 7:06 am

That is SO awesome Erica. The way you handled it was great, too! Thanks for sharing.

    8. Kelly @ TastingPage on March 22, 2017 4:55 pm

I haven’t seen this brand before, but I always love added veggies in a product. I also like that they use cashews instead of almonds since I have an almond allergy!

Loving the unique flavors options they have!
