When they first launched Icelandic Provisions Oatmilk Skyr back in 2021, some production issues arose that kept them from meeting demands. But this thick, creamy, dairy-free line has returned with an all new formula that’s even higher in protein. They’ve also made a few flavor changes, bringing blueberry, peach, and strawberry into the mix.
Icelandic Provisions Oatmilk Skyr is How the Nordic do Dairy-Free Yogurt
Skyr (pronounced skeer) is a traditional Icelandic dairy product, made specifically with skyr cultures, to produce a food that’s like yogurt, but thicker and creamier. It also has a rich flavor that isn’t overtly sour or tart in taste, like yogurt.
Icelandic Provisions is a modern day pioneer for skyr, so it’s no surprise they were the first brand to release a vegan skyr in North America. Icelandic Provisions Oatmilk Skyr was crafted to mimic their dairy line, but with purely dairy-free ingredients. According to the company, “the cultures used in our Oatmilk Skyr are grown in a plant-based medium thus making it a vegan product!” We’ve got the current nutrition details for each dairy-free flavor below.

Icelandic Provisions does label their Oatmilk products as “non-dairy,” but this is a dairy-free product by ingredients. Please note that we only share products made without any type of dairy in our review section and most “non-dairy” products are dairy-free. The terms “non-dairy” and “dairy-free” are not regulated at this time (non-dairy used to be, but no longer has a regulatory definition) and have no bearing on whether a product is at high or low risk for potential cross contamination with dairy in production.

too sweet and bitter
peach flavor is horrible and leaves a really bitter unpleasant taste in your mouth while eating it. Also way too sweet. The blueberry at least didn’t have the underlining bitter flavor but again too much sugar. I also wish they could’ve left coconut oil out as we’re all trying to stay off the saturated fat . We all lowered our cholesterol naturally and Heart Attack Risk Assessment by just giving up the saturated fats so wish they had used something else besides coconut oil,
Soooooo goooood.
They were sampling these at Whole Foods so I gave it a try and was immediately sold. These yogurts are delicious. I’ve had other non-dairy yogurts and it’s incredible the way this one captures that tangy-tartiness that I remember yogurt had. The fruit flavors are subtle and wonderful and the sweetness level is perfect for me. My non-vegan boyfriend also thought they were delicious. I would highly recommend these to anyone.
Great Non Dairy Skyr.
Found it Whole Foods. Exceeded my expectations. Creamy, no strange tastes! How to find it in wider distribution soon!
