Kakookies are No Nonsense Healthy Vegan Energy Cookies

Are you tired of additives and functional ingredients in foods? Well let me tell you about these vegan energy cookies that we just tried. Kakookies are made simply with oats or oat flour (no funky flour substitutes), and are made without protein powders, gums, alternative ingredients, flavors, or preservatives. In fact, they’re pretty darn close to healthy cookies you could easily bake at home … but far more convenient.

When I say healthy cookies, I realize some of you might cringe. But the entire bag of Dark Chocolate Mint Bites disappeared almost as fast as the video shown below. The “bites” as they call them, are what I would call normal-size cookies, and one bag contains a bunch of them, as you can see here …

The Dark Chocolate Mint is their first foray into “bites” (seriously, they aren’t that small!), but they have several other flavors packaged as over-sized, single-serve cookies (shown in the background of my photo and video).

    More Allergen Notes

The large, individually packaged, single serve Kakookies are produced in a gluten-free facility and are certified gluten-free. However, the cookie bites are produced in another facility, and do not have gluten-free certification. They are still made without any gluten ingredients, but the company doesn’t market them as gluten-free.

    Great snack

My husband and I loved the dark chocolate mint bites cookies. Great flavor, rustic texture, a little hearty, and fulfilling. The size was also great, and bigger than “bites.” They’re a great dessert-snack hybrid. We liked the bigger cookies, too, which were more like breakfast cookies.
