With only five ingredients, Miyoko’s Cashewmilk Cream Cheese is the closest thing we’ve found to homemade dairy-free and vegan cream cheese. But unlike most recipes that use acidic ingredients to add tang, Miyoko’s Creamery cultures their cream cheese alternative for a more authentic flavor. And over the years, they’ve whipped up some new flavors, including Scallion, Vegan Lox, Everything, and now, Cinnamon Raisin.
Miyoko’s Cashewmilk Cream Cheese is Now in 5 Organic, Vegan Flavors
All of Miyoko’s products are palm oil-free, but this line up is also completely oil-free. The creamy consistency comes from a paleo-friendly blend of cashews and coconut cream. We’ve got some notes on each flavor, but tell us what you think about this product too! Leave your review and rating below.
Plainly Classic
This is meant to be the most versatile variety, for spreading on bagels, whipping into frosting, and creating “classic” dairy-free cheesecakes. But it is a little coconut-forward and sour in flavor, and might not work perfectly for every cream cheese need. Nonetheless, it’s thick, rich, and will provide a nice consistency whether served cold or baked.

Savory Scallion

Everything
In this case, “everything” means a mix of  poppy seeds, sesame seeds, garlic, and onion. It’s great for toast, bagels, or whipping to create a pretzel or chip dip.

Plain tangy taste

I Wondered if Mine Was Rancid
…but apparently it’s supposed to taste like this, judging by the other comments. Wow. Its pungency might come in handy incorporated into recipes which call for that taste. But when one anticipates the familiar neutral flavor of plain cream cheese, this fermented flavor is seriously off-putting. Plainly Classic? No.
Loved all three
I tried all tree of these cream cheeses and loved them! I used my non-vegan boyfriend as a litmus test and he especially liked the Lox style. It is pretty convincing and excellent on bagels or in wraps.
Bad experience, bad replacement.
Horrible. My life long experience for cream cheese has always resulted in a creamy experience. This cream cheese was gritty. And left an awful aftertaste. I was open to trying this product bc of its vegan claim. The product reminded me of the reason why I’m not vegan.
Off taste
Dunno in what world these taste like cream cheese. Almost unbearably tangy and acidic.
