With only five ingredients, Miyoko’s Cashewmilk Cream Cheese is the closest thing we’ve found to homemade dairy-free and vegan cream cheese. But unlike most recipes that use acidic ingredients to add tang, Miyoko’s Creamery cultures their cream cheese alternative for a more authentic flavor. And over the years, they’ve whipped up some new flavors, including Scallion, Vegan Lox, Everything, and now, Cinnamon Raisin.
Miyoko’s Cashewmilk Cream Cheese is Now in 5 Organic, Vegan Flavors
All of Miyoko’s products are palm oil-free, but this line up is also completely oil-free. The creamy consistency comes from a paleo-friendly blend of cashews and coconut cream. We’ve got some notes on each flavor, but tell us what you think about this product too! Leave your review and rating below.
Plainly Classic
This is meant to be the most versatile variety, for spreading on bagels, whipping into frosting, and creating “classic” dairy-free cheesecakes. But it is a little coconut-forward and sour in flavor, and might not work perfectly for every cream cheese need. Nonetheless, it’s thick, rich, and will provide a nice consistency whether served cold or baked.

Savory Scallion
Green onions and a dash of white pepper give this thick spread a savory flavor that is great on bagels, appetizers, or in recipes. It will even melt nicely into sauces.

Fish-Free Lox
Seaweed and spice give this schmear a seafood vibe. I’ve heard rave reviews from both vegans and non-vegans on the flavor, which is best for bagels and appetizers.

Everything
In this case, “everything” means a mix of poppy seeds, sesame seeds, garlic, and onion. It’s great for toast, bagels, or whipping to create a pretzel or chip dip.

Cinnamon Raisin
This is Miyoko’s first foray into a sweetened cream cheese. It contains just a dash of organic sugar, but is also sweetened with raisins for a great breakfast or snack spread. Try it on celery sticks!

Love it
Maybe I’ve been avoiding dairy for too long but I think this stuff is awesome!
The taste/texture actually reminds me of goat cheese, and satisfies my cream cheese cravings. The ingredients in faux cheeses are usually processed garbage, but this one is so simple! Love it so much.
Sour
I really wanted to love this. I tried it on a blueberry bagel not good. Kite hill cream cheese is my favorite. I’m hoping to find someway to doctor this up so I don’t have to throw it out. Maybe add garlic use it on an everything bagel. Not good I will not buy again.
So. Gross.
I have no clue why people like this cream cheese. It’s sour and tastes nothing like cream cheese. My favorite vegan cream cheese so far has been trader joe’s and tofutti.
No way!
We use Violife (which is incredible!) The store was out so we bought Miyoko’s. Her butter is the best thing out there, even better than regular butter, more like a European butter. Miyoko needs to head back to her kitchen because this plain cream cheese is… I don’t even know how to put it… horrific, taste and texture. NO! NO!
Nasty
I tried the Un-Lox flavor cream cheese and it worst thing I’ve ever eaten, $5 went straight in the trash. It tasted sour and rotten, and no it was not expired.
So sour!
I read other reviews of people saying this tasted sour but thought, “it couldn’t be that bad, right?” No. it’s terrible. Not edible at all. Tastes like a block of lemon minus any sweetness. The texture is alright but like everyone else is saying, the flavor is simply awful.
Finished the tub in a day
These reviews are so confusing for me. As a person who has eaten dairy their whole life and just switched over, this is the closest you will even get to the real thing. Creamy, delicious, great consistency, great flavor. I mean it’s just freakin awesome. I load my bagels up with this stuff and am constantly running out of this cream cheese because I use so much! Amazing
Worst thing you can do as a vegan
this was by far the worst most sour thing I tasted, I’m so upset with this product
Lox
Partly bad because I got it thinking it was plain. Mostly bad because it was the texture of plastic and tasted terrible.
Umami goodness
I buy the un-lox version at Trader Joe and have it in sandwiches with tomatoes. For this purpose, it is delicious, and the combination of the two ingredients provides a powerful umami kick. It is leagues better than my previous go-to, TJ’s vegan cream cheese. I look forward to trying the other flavours if I can find a local store that sells them.
