With only five ingredients, Miyoko’s Cashewmilk Cream Cheese is the closest thing we’ve found to homemade dairy-free and vegan cream cheese. But unlike most recipes that use acidic ingredients to add tang, Miyoko’s Creamery cultures their cream cheese alternative for a more authentic flavor. And over the years, they’ve whipped up some new flavors, including Scallion, Vegan Lox, Everything, and now, Cinnamon Raisin.
Miyoko’s Cashewmilk Cream Cheese is Now in 5 Organic, Vegan Flavors
All of Miyoko’s products are palm oil-free, but this line up is also completely oil-free. The creamy consistency comes from a paleo-friendly blend of cashews and coconut cream. We’ve got some notes on each flavor, but tell us what you think about this product too! Leave your review and rating below.
Plainly Classic
This is meant to be the most versatile variety, for spreading on bagels, whipping into frosting, and creating “classic” dairy-free cheesecakes. But it is a little coconut-forward and sour in flavor, and might not work perfectly for every cream cheese need. Nonetheless, it’s thick, rich, and will provide a nice consistency whether served cold or baked.

Savory Scallion
Green onions and a dash of white pepper give this thick spread a savory flavor that is great on bagels, appetizers, or in recipes. It will even melt nicely into sauces.

Fish-Free Lox
Seaweed and spice give this schmear a seafood vibe. I’ve heard rave reviews from both vegans and non-vegans on the flavor, which is best for bagels and appetizers.

Everything
In this case, “everything” means a mix of  poppy seeds, sesame seeds, garlic, and onion. It’s great for toast, bagels, or whipping to create a pretzel or chip dip.

Cinnamon Raisin
This is Miyoko’s first foray into a sweetened cream cheese. It contains just a dash of organic sugar, but is also sweetened with raisins for a great breakfast or snack spread. Try it on celery sticks!

Taste sour
Was disappointed the taste like it was spoiled and gave me sick tummy. Was not expired. Sticking with Kite Hill
Over and out!
Went to trader Joe’s and Un-Lox Your Dreams was the only flavor. I scoop it with one single bagel and bam, straight in the trash. Disgusting! I will not try another flavor from this brand. sour and weird taste. Waste of money.
Straight in the trash
This tasted so spoiled it went right in the trash, along with the bagel. Expiration date hadn’t passed but it tasted so foul it seemed risky to eat.
I think it's great
I’m puzzled by these reviews. This tastes better than regular scallion cream cheese too me. I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a little tangy, sort of like chevre.
If i could give no stars....Worst Vegan Cheese available
Worst Vegan Cream cheese ever!
Tastes overwhelmingly of fake coconut flavour. (like when you buy cheap coconut milk and it has a chemically vanilla taste.)
Tastes awful…and nothing like cheese.
Smooth, slightly sweet flavor
I can no longer have dairy, so after a period of total abstinence from anything even dairy-ish, I began to miss some of my favorite meals and began to explore vegan cheese alternatives. I’ve had Daiya and Kite Hill, and recently I tried the Mykonos plainly classic cream cheese. Unlike other reviewers, I found the taste to be slightly sweet – definitely sweeter than conventional dairy cream cheese. A little too sweet to replace regular cream cheese in some of my more savory dishes, but perfectly tasty on a bagel or crackers! It is nice topped with honey or agave, as it complements the sweetness. I’ll bet it would make an amazing cheesecake! The texture was a little thicker, and slightly harder to spread, but I will definitely buy again!
First time
First time tasting it tonight. I wanted a late night snack and decided on a half a bagel. I was excited to try this as I’m 11 days into being vegan and trying new things is an exciting challenge. Well um this missed the mark completely and it’s very sour. I have decided since it’s scallion I’ll use it on my potatoes tomorrow instead of throwing it away.
Vegan Cream Cheese the WORST
I have now tried two Miyoko products. The Vegan Cream Cheese and a spread. The Spread, (forgive me I forget the name of the flavor) tasted awfully sour. A month later I tried this Cream Cheese Classic (plain). Same problem, just a nasty overwhelming sour taste. Both products were returned to the Grocery Store. If you love the taste of Rejuvalac or whatever it is that is making these products horrendously sour and otherwise tasteless then I guess you will love the Cream Cheese.
Plainly Sour?
I thought maybe I just got unlucky with my purchase but apparently everyone is tasting sour cream cheese as well! WTH? Ruined my bagels ? How is there no lemon juice or vinegar in the ingredients? Suspicious…
Response from Go Dairy Free
They culture / ferment instead of adding lemon juice or vinegar to give it a tangy flavor. But it sounds like the results from the culturing lately have been too sour instead of lightly tangy!
Had hopes on plain, un-lox your dreams barely
I am at high risk for Brest Cancer, so dairy is now out (60’s 1 in 28) so I bought 1 plain and 1 un-lox your dreams of Miyoko’s brand of cream cheese. The plain was awful, and the un-lox your dreams was barely consumable, but I can deal with it. The brand is cashew based, which is good, and has no carrageenan (carcinogen).
