With only five ingredients, Miyoko’s Cashewmilk Cream Cheese is the closest thing we’ve found to homemade dairy-free and vegan cream cheese. But unlike most recipes that use acidic ingredients to add tang, Miyoko’s Creamery cultures their cream cheese alternative for a more authentic flavor. And over the years, they’ve whipped up some new flavors, including Scallion, Vegan Lox, Everything, and now, Cinnamon Raisin.
Miyoko’s Cashewmilk Cream Cheese is Now in 5 Organic, Vegan Flavors
All of Miyoko’s products are palm oil-free, but this line up is also completely oil-free. The creamy consistency comes from a paleo-friendly blend of cashews and coconut cream. We’ve got some notes on each flavor, but tell us what you think about this product too! Leave your review and rating below.
Plainly Classic
This is meant to be the most versatile variety, for spreading on bagels, whipping into frosting, and creating “classic” dairy-free cheesecakes. But it is a little coconut-forward and sour in flavor, and might not work perfectly for every cream cheese need. Nonetheless, it’s thick, rich, and will provide a nice consistency whether served cold or baked.

Everything
In this case, “everything” means a mix of poppy seeds, sesame seeds, garlic, and onion. It’s great for toast, bagels, or whipping to create a pretzel or chip dip.

I Love Some of Miyoko Products But This...
Was a waste of my money. Its sour!
They make a non sour products delicious creamy cheeses, what happened here?!
Please revise this as I am sure I will buy it.
Inedible
This vegan cream cheese is disgusting. I honestly thought it had gone bad, but the expiration date had not passed. I tried to eat it with on rice cakes with cucumber, but it is tangy in the worst way and not cream cheese-y at all. Threw it away because no one in my household would eat it. There are other brands of vegan cream cheese that taste much better and cost even less.
Yuck
This ‘cream cheese’ is terrible!! Like others, I thought maybe it was spoiled? (But it didn’t expire until February 2020) Or if maybe we didn’t pick up the plain flavor, but something else instead. It tasted sour which won’t work in my recipe for a dish at Christmas dinner. Luckily it isn’t totally necessary for it, but still will be missed. The only reason we bought it was because our usual brand was sold out, and it wasn’t cheap! We ended up throwing the whole container away because I can’t imagine what it would taste good on. I’ve tried her mozzarella which was great! But this was not a winner.
Amazing flavor
I’ve been dairy intolerant over 19 years and it’s rare to find an alternative product that not only tastes delicious has a good texture and clean ingredients.I love this cream cheese.
Ugh!
Awful. Nothing like real cream cheese. Acidic, tangy in the worst way. Avoid!
Amazingly Delicious!
My vegan, gluten-free family LOVES Miyoko’s products! The butter has been an absolute godsend – it’s the first vegan butter to pass our critical taste test. Its delicious creaminess can even be savored all alone on bread to satisfy an old favorite: bread and butter! The cream cheese is our latest fave find. This versatile healthy version of the “real” (dairy) thing, works perfectly in all our favorite sweet and savory recipes. Our non-vegan friends and family have raved about it, not knowing it’s made from nuts. Most recently we mixed it with CocoWhip Cream to create a delectable sweet cream cheese dessert topping. Thank you Miyoko!
Vinegar?
Overwhelming taste of vinegar, and made my tongue feel like it got a mild burn?
Taste only improves slightly when you combine it with a strong flavor like semi dried tomatoes and even then it tastes like eating coconut oil.
At $12 I would not purchase this again, there are far better tasting vegan cream cheese for half the price. Disappointed, I had heard good things about Miyoko’s but it’s super expensive here in Australia so I doubt I will be buying anymore of her products without the chance to taste it first.
straight up vinegar
i thought i had accidentally picked up a vinegar-flavored cream cheese. it actually made my tongue burn.
rancid and unpleasant
very rancid and unpleasant. prefer the miyoko cheese wheel to this.
Tangy sour taste
I was really confused and had to check my expiration date. It tasted like sour milk. Had it gone bad?
