Miyoko’s Vegan Oatmilk Butter is Cultured in Two Spreadable Flavors

There are some changes on the way with Miyoko’s Oatmilk Butter. As you might notice, the package above looks a bit different from the one below. It seems the Garlic Parm is being discontinued, and the regular has had some image changes, and no longer bears organic and kosher certifications.

    Original

Miyoko's Oatmilk Vegan Butter - cultured dairy-free butter alternative made with oat milk. We have ingredients, ratings, reviews, and more.Ingredients: organic high oleic sunflower oil, organic cultured whole grain oat milk (filtered water, organic oats, cultures), organic coconut oil, contains less than 2% of: organic sunflower lecithin, sea salt, mushroom extract, natural flavors derived from oregano, flaxseed, and plums, organic fruit and vegetable juice (color), organic turmeric (color).*

    Nutrition (per 1 tablespoon): 80 calories, 9g fat, 1g carbs, 0g fiber, 0g sugars, 0g protein.*

    Discontinued Varieties

The Garlic Parm flavor of Miyoko’s Oatmilk Butter is being phased out. And the original is no longer called “Hint of Salt.”

I was teaching my Granddaughter to make flour tortillas and we had to eat the first one off the grill with butter and she had your oat milk butter. Wow it taste amazing. Now I have to make fudge with it at Christmas.

I am a true butter girl. I used to eat cubes of it as a kid. Now for health reasons I had to cut it out. I’ve tried all sorts of alternatives for years & this is the first one that I absolutely LOVE! Tastes great & it’s nice & soft & spreadable so it doesn’t need to be set out to get soft. My only concern is that I won’t be able to find it again in our small town.

This is barely eatable. Worst vegan spread I’ve tasted. Unusual taste. Strange, because this brand’s European style butter is the best vegan spread I’ve tasted. That comes in a stick form. If you’re looking for a tub, Earth Balance is excellent.

I left the Oat Milk hint of Sea Salt vegan butter out over night and now it’s liquid. Should I return it, is it suppose to do that? Within expiration date.

    Response from Go Dairy Free

It is supposed to be kept refrigerated. It is made with coconut oil, which will liquefy at warmer room temperatures. Margarines contain hydrogenated oils that are more heat stable, which is why they soften and melt at higher temperatures.

I just purchased a tub of this “butter” and it surprised me! It spreads easily and it tastes so good! The color is different from the real thing, but it made with oat milk, so that is to be expected! I haven’t left mine out so I never noticed the separation issue, but as long as it’s in the fridge it has a great texture and consistency!

Fine, but I prefer Earth Balance

I was sad to find it separates very quickly if left out of the refrigerator. I thought I’d set it out to soften for a bit and it completely liquified. I was able to refrigerate and remix and it smells/tastes the same, but it wasn’t pleasant to open a tub of liquid planning to spread on toast. The flavor is fine, nothing amazing.

I use it on all kinds of foods–it has a rich flavor and pleasing texture. It spreads well. It does separate if left out to warm but can be mixed back together easily.
