Springfield Creamery, the makers of Nancy’s Probiotic Foods, is a family owned Eugene, Oregon company that was founded in 1960. They are dedicated to their dairy product lines, but have also catered to dairy-free customers for years. Their Soy Yogurt was discontinued a few years ago, but they replaced it with a full range of non-dairy Nancy’s Oatmilk Yogurt. And this summer, they’ve decided to completely revamp their oatmilk line. It has a new look and a brand new recipe, with several ingredient changes.
Nancy’s Oatmilk Yogurt Transitions to All New Formula and Packaging
What are the changes in Nancy’s Oatmilk Yogurt? The company swapped the faba bean protein for chickpea protein, down-sized ever so slightly from 6 ounces to the standard 5.3 ounce singles (the multi-serves are still the same size), increased the coconut oil for a richer (and higher fat) consistency, and replaced the agar with gellan gum for thickening. But don’t worry, it’s still dairy-free and soy-free, contains live and active cultures, and has 30 to 50% less sugar than the leading plant-based yogurts (and many dairy yogurts).

More Allergen Notes
These yogurts are made without top allergens, and do not have a “may contain” statement for any allergens. The container we purchased actually had dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free, and soy-free listed right on the package. However, they are made on shared equipment with dairy (we’re assuming yogurt). They do not specify certified gluten-free oats on the ingredients online, but it looks like they do on the containers. Double check in store and with the company, if needed.

Passing on the plain..
I bought the plain yogurt because it had no sugars. I thought if I added some honey or fruits it would be better. But noooo.. it was about the worst thing I’ve ever tasted. It doesn’t matter how many fruits you add, it still tastes awful and after the first few bites.
Nasty yogurt
This yogurt is horrible!!!
It's not dairy yogurt, but its tasty!
It’s different, but it’s tasty!
WOW!!!!
I am so happy to have found this yogurt. I prefer to eat non-sweetened yogurt and add my own fruit. I just enjoyed this yogurt with some rolled oats, a cut-up apple, and a bit of monk fruit sweetener. What a delicious breakfast. Oh, and to the point of the tang, that is what yogurt should taste like…most people are so used to overly sweetened yogurt. Add some fresh fruit and maybe a bit of healthy sweetener and you’ll love it!
Is it bad flavor or had gone bad?
Tried the plain flavor and the tang and taste of it left me wondering if it had gone bad or just been a bad batch. It was really putrid. However it was weeks before its best by date, so unless on the off-chance I got a bad batch, it is not a tasty product. I wished I had liked it, as I am on the search for a yogurt alternative.
Hibiscus flavor is delish!
I was very pleased when I tried this yogurt, since I’ve had some BAD vegan yogurts! Apple hibiscus is tart, which may not be to some tastes but I enjoyed it. Texture was better than others but not totally creamy. Low in sugar compared to most others! Can’t speak to the plain flavor.
Too Sour
I had originally had a different brand of oat milk yogurt, which came in numerous berry/fruit flavors. It was good, the taste was not too overpowering. But then it went out of stock, so I looked online for different brands and I found Nancy’s. The reviews were generally 4-5 stars, so I decided to try it. I nearly spit out the first bite. I was wondering if it had somehow gone bad, but no. That’s how it tasted. I had the apple cinnamon flavor, and I couldn’t taste either. It was not what I expected.

The plain yogurt
…tastes like a wet dog. It is repulsive.
My new favorite non-daily yogurt!!
I’m eating some vanilla flavor right now. Creamy, yummy, just the right amount of tart… what more can I say? I’m going to stock up next week.
I love it
I wish the new flavors were available in my local Sprouts. I eat Nancy’s yogurt every morning. Its a ritual and I rotate the flavors. The plain yogurt is great with granola and fruit. I add rolled oats and chia seeds to my yogurts and to the plain one I add fruits too and it works. I hope the new flavors will eventually arrive in my Sprouts. It’s so hard to find non dairy yogurt that doesn’t contain tons of sugar.
