Springfield Creamery, the makers of Nancy’s Probiotic Foods, is a family owned Eugene, Oregon company that was founded in 1960. They are dedicated to their dairy product lines, but have also catered to dairy-free customers for years. Their Soy Yogurt was discontinued a few years ago, but they replaced it with a full range of non-dairy Nancy’s Oatmilk Yogurt. And this summer, they’ve decided to completely revamp their oatmilk line. It has a new look and a brand new recipe, with several ingredient changes.
Nancy’s Oatmilk Yogurt Transitions to All New Formula and Packaging
What are the changes in Nancy’s Oatmilk Yogurt? The company swapped the faba bean protein for chickpea protein, down-sized ever so slightly from 6 ounces to the standard 5.3 ounce singles (the multi-serves are still the same size), increased the coconut oil for a richer (and higher fat) consistency, and replaced the agar with gellan gum for thickening. But don’t worry, it’s still dairy-free and soy-free, contains live and active cultures, and has 30 to 50% less sugar than the leading plant-based yogurts (and many dairy yogurts).

More Allergen Notes
These yogurts are made without top allergens, and do not have a “may contain” statement for any allergens. The container we purchased actually had dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free, and soy-free listed right on the package. However, they are made on shared equipment with dairy (we’re assuming yogurt). They do not specify certified gluten-free oats on the ingredients online, but it looks like they do on the containers. Double check in store and with the company, if needed.

New packaging new taste
I started eating the vanilla flavor and loved it. Recently I purchased the revamped vanilla and love the new packaging but do not care for the consistency or taste. Probably will not purchase again. Why fix what wasn’t broke! Disappointing
unhealthy new recipe -- pure saturated fat
We were big fans of the old version (especially the cold brew flavor) but the new version is mostly coconut oil. There are a whopping 8 grams of unhealthy saturated fat per serving. We are switching to other brands of dairy-free yogurt. Very disappointed.
I LOVED the old one--the new recipe is AWFUL
The old one was the only vegan yogurt I ever liked or bought, so imagine my disappointment at this “new recipe.” As Brenda pointed out, it is much heavier calorically and a whopping 9g of fat! Nancy’s, you messed up with this one. Now I have no yogurt to eat.
They changed the reciepe
I loved the old one made with faba beans, now it is made with chickpea and other added ingredients. Additionally it added 80 more calories and 7.5 grams of fat. The chickpea makes for an aftertaste and where the prior one had somethickness, this is pure soup and does not thicken.
Love Nancy's Oatmilk Yogurt
Stir your yogurt!! For those who didn’t like the texture of this yogurt, you must stir it before eating it and will vastly improve the texture! I’ve been vegan for just over 5 years and Nancy’s Oatmilk yogurt is the first non-dairy yogurt I really liked. Oatmilk really is the superior milk alternative in my book. This plain oatmilk yogurt is a bit tart but that’s how I like my plain yogurt so perfect for me and balances sweet fresh fruit I add nicely.
I have tried a few of the flavored varieties (apple and blueberry) but found there were both too sweet for my liking but I generally find all sweetened yogurts too much for me.
Better with some additions,
I’ve been trying to find nondairy yogurt that is low sugar, higher protein compared to some options. I saw the Nancy’s apple cinnamon in the store and bought some to try. This seemed perfect. The texture was fine and the color brown albeit ok; however, it’s got quite a vinegary flavor to it. I could not eat it straight because it tasted so much like apple cider vinegar. I added some stevia and it made it more palatable, albeit still a bit tangy for my taste. So not sold on the apple cinnamon, but I would be willing to try a different flavor knowing I can add stevia.
I liked it!
I have to quit dairy. It’s ripping my stomach to shreds. I love yogurt and didn’t want to give it up so I tried the vanilla and the texture is different but it tastes good. Would definitely buy it again. Satisfied my sweet yogurt craving!
Oat milk plain yogurt
Possibly the worst thing I’ve ever tasted. Why bother trying if this is the best you can do. The texture is pretty awful too. Total waste of 4 bucks.
Okay, good price, low-sugar
Like the low-sugar content. Tried since on sale. This vanilla isn’t my young child’s fav sub yogurt….So-Del coconut vanilla is his fav but that one has 16 grams of sugar! A little sour but tolerable with granola and fruit crisps. It might help to mix the entire container as some spoonfuls inconsistent or add your own honey or stevia.
This company does not adequately stock its Oatmilk Probiotic plain yogurt
When I directly phoned its Springfield Creamery in Oregon, I was told the reason I couldn’t find the product had nothing to do with the company but somehow I had to psyche out innumerable warehouses that were not distributing what the company claimed was in circulation. I find ads for the Oatmilk yogurt online and when I click innumerable links, I am informed the product is OUT OF STOCK. I wasted three vain hours online getting nowhere. The Company needs to get with it, or I will no longer even bother with it and get a competing brand that is not like a challenging, insurmountable treasure hunt.
