Springfield Creamery, the makers of Nancy’s Probiotic Foods, is a family owned Eugene, Oregon company that was founded in 1960. They are dedicated to their dairy product lines, but have also catered to dairy-free customers for years. Their Soy Yogurt was discontinued a few years ago, but they replaced it with a full range of non-dairy Nancy’s Oatmilk Yogurt. And this summer, they’ve decided to completely revamp their oatmilk line. It has a new look and a brand new recipe, with several ingredient changes.
Nancy’s Oatmilk Yogurt Transitions to All New Formula and Packaging
What are the changes in Nancy’s Oatmilk Yogurt? The company swapped the faba bean protein for chickpea protein, down-sized ever so slightly from 6 ounces to the standard 5.3 ounce singles (the multi-serves are still the same size), increased the coconut oil for a richer (and higher fat) consistency, and replaced the agar with gellan gum for thickening. But don’t worry, it’s still dairy-free and soy-free, contains live and active cultures, and has 30 to 50% less sugar than the leading plant-based yogurts (and many dairy yogurts).

More Allergen Notes
These yogurts are made without top allergens, and do not have a “may contain” statement for any allergens. The container we purchased actually had dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free, and soy-free listed right on the package. However, they are made on shared equipment with dairy (we’re assuming yogurt). They do not specify certified gluten-free oats on the ingredients online, but it looks like they do on the containers. Double check in store and with the company, if needed.

My breakfast
I love the yogurt for breakfast. I add blueberries, strawberries, banana, cilantro, few scallions and honey peanuts. Little honey. Delicious.
Literally the worst vegan yogurt I've ever had
The plain flavor is just inedible. I’ve tried many different vegan yogurts over the years and this is easily the worst one.
Plain is just BLEH!
I was SO excited to try this yogurt and decided to go with the plain. Unfortunately, it was not good…not one bit. As soon as I opened it, the stench was overwhelming. I purchased and (attempted to) consume within 5 days of purchasing with the expiration date a month out. The yogurt tastes like Greek yogurt gone rancid. Or like you mixed expired sour cream and expired Greek yogurt together. Horrible, horrible taste. I took two very small tries and immediately threw it in the trash. The texture does look a little off as well, a little clumpy. I have been a long time consumer of non-dairy yogurts and this one takes the trophy for the worst one out there!
Sincerely,
Extremely Disappointed
Perfect substitute
I picked up a container of vanilla on sale and I’m really pleased. The oat yogurt works great as a substitute for dairy in my breakfast muesli. The taste and texture are spot-on to me. I don’t ordinarily eat yogurt on its own, so I can’t comment on that, but I’m eager to try the plain yogurt for vegan naan and lassi.
Unsweetened plain is terrible!
I excitedly bought the unsweetened plain variety to try getting into vegan yogurts, but read the reviews on this site before trying it, so I was apprehensive about tasting it. To my horror, the bad reviews are absolutely correct, in my opinion. The “yogurt” is an off-putting brown color and the texture is not good, it’s…chunky. More importantly, the taste was just awful. I agree with other reviewers who found it to taste of metal, but there’s also a weird bacteria-y aftertaste (yes, it’s full of healthy bacteria, but in regular dairy yogurt you don’t taste that in the same way). I threw the whole tub away.
unsweetened plain = STRANGE
My first instinct was that my yogurt was rancid. It had a sour and metalic taste. I almost threw it out right away, but then I added a ton of coconut sugar and it tasted more normal. Will not buy again.
Horrible
This tastes like disgusting alcohol. Like I’m eating a white claw [hard seltzer]. I couldn’t finish it.
Weird at first but love it now
It took a while getting used to the tart flavor due to the lack of sugar but I am super happy I’ve given this brand a try! I am lactose intolerant but love yogurt so this is perfect. Definitely took a few tries to like it because I’m used to yogurts having more added sugar. I make my own granola with pecans and add in some fresh blueberries or strawberries to balance the tartness!
Not real food.
I tried and I didn’t like… it’s not for me. I don’t know what I am eating with that. Just feels like something fake. Bad texture bad taste…
Good Quality
