This easy to find brand knows how to hit the mark with light cereals that are sweet and delicious. They still have a bit more added sugar than I prefer in the mornings, but are a very pleasant treat. Our resident sugar-bomb cereal teen voted "good, but different."

For years, a bowl of cereal doused with almond milk was my morning M.O. But eventually, I migrated to oatmeal  and smoothies for more wholesome and hearty breakfasts. Although every once and a while, cereal cravings strike, so I decided to revisit Natures Path Organic Cereal for a treat.

Natures Path Crunchy Sunrise Cereals - Maple and Vanilla

I say “for a treat” as I do my best to avoid any added sugars in the morning. That said, for the amazing sweetness in Natures Path Certified Gluten-Free Crunchy Sunrise Cereals, they are surprisingly moderate in total sugars (7 grams per serving – not low sugar, but relatively modest for a sweet breakfast cereal). And like most Natures Path Organic Cereal, the Crunchy Sunrise varieties are pretty light in calories with a smattering of protein and fiber.

Tasting Notes for Natures Path Organic Cereal

Crunchy Sunrise

Since I’m not good at leaving well-enough alone, I usually add a spoonful of peanut butter or almond butter to the cereal and then sprinkle it all with cinnamon. The Crunchy Sunrise Cereals were great this way, as the lightly sweet taste perfectly complimented nut butter with a hint of salt and cinnamon.

As for the varieties, Natures Path Crunchy Sunrise comes in Maple and Vanilla. Both were amazingly deep with flavor – there was no doubt which one was vanilla and which was maple. But aside from the slight ingredient variation, they are identical with a combination of crunchy flakes, crisps and puffs. I adored this textural range.

This is Leah’s go-to cereal:

I love the simplicity of this raisin studded cereal! It’s made from a mix of gluten-free grains and is only lightly sweetened with evaporated cane juice. The flakes are nice and crisp and are able to hold their own in almond milk without getting too soggy. They’re pretty heavy handed with the raisins, which makes me very happy. It also holds up nicely in crunchy cereal treats!

Another plus about Natures Path Organic Cereal – it is very well-distributed. You can find many of their boxes in natural food stores throughout both the U.S. and Canada, and even in some conventional grocers. As usual, watch for sales and coupons!
