Nature’s Path Sunrise Chewy Granola Bars in 4 Dairy-Free Flavors

By Alisa Fleming on April 28, 2018 Dairy-Free Energy, Granola & Snack Bar Reviews, Product Reviews

Nature’s Path products have morphed quite a bit in recent years. Most notably, their granola bars have been given a big face lift and are now cross-promoted as “Breakfast Bars.” We still like to call them Nature’s Path Sunrise Chewy Granola Bars, in order to avoid confusing them with their Breakfast Biscuits, which all contain dairy. The granola bars come in several flavors that are dairy free by ingredients.

Notes for Nature’s Path Sunrise Chewy Granola Bars

Not all Nature’s Path Sunrise Chewy Granola Bars are dairy-free – the Berry Strawberry and Dark Chocolate Chip both contain milk. But the varieties below are made without dairy. I’ve included information on their allergen protocols below to avoid any ‘may contain‘ confusion.

    More Allergen Notes

The company shared the following information about their allergen protocols.

At Nature’s Path we have an extensive planning and cleaning schedule -which includes protein testing- for all our production facilities in order to prevent any cross contamination of our products with non-declared ingredients. All of our products that do not contain any of the top eight allergens– as listed on the ingredient label are theoretically free from them. However because of the remote chance of contamination in the plant we cannot imply that there is no possibility of minute amounts of these allergens in our products.

After handling any product that contains allergens, we do a full allergen clean-up on the production lines. We use various cleaning methods such as rinsing, hot scrubber machines, vacuums and organic compliant cleaning solution followed by protein tests on the equipment. Cleaning is supervised and checked off by our Quality Assurance team.

You should never rely on ingredient and allergen statements alone if dealing with a severe food allergy.

    Chunky Choco Peanut Fan!

This bar was thick and chewy, but somehow not the least bit sticky. I don’t know that I’ve ever tasted such a delicious peanut creation! It’s packed full of hearty oats and full toasty peanuts. The cocoa boasts a nice rounded sweetness that pairs perfectly with the strength of the peanut flavor. It somehow managed to be completely rich and indulgent, but not the least bit unsettling in the stomach. And it was seriously satisfying. I went hours before even thinking of my hunger again!
