New Barn AlmondCrème is Next Level Organic Dairy-Free Ice Cream (DISCONTINUED)

By Alisa Fleming on May 24, 2019 Discontinued Products, Product Reviews

New Barn AlmondCrème emerged many years ago as a dairy-free, egg-based ice cream. They disappeared and reformulated to be vegan. It was quite good, but unfortunately, their distribution never took hold. New Barn has once again discontinued AlmondCrème. There is only one almond-based dairy-free ice cream left in the U.S., and that’s Almond Dream. But more more options, see our Dairy-Free Ice Cream Reviews.

It’s back, and it looks better than ever. Several years ago, New Barn launched the first dairy-free ice cream made with eggs. It was a great concept, but it didn’t gain traction amid the growing vegan movement. This year, they’ve emerged with a reformulated line that’s sure to satisfy any dairy-free ice cream purist. New Barn AlmondCrème is now vegan (dairy-free and egg-free) and it boasts a very clean, certified organic ingredient list that blends their classic almondmilk with rich coconut cream.

New Barn AlmondCrème is Next Level Organic Dairy-Free Ice Cream

This isn’t a low calorie, low sugar, or functional frozen dessert. It’s just dessert. But the ingredients are so simple and whole that you could technically make New Barn AlmondCrème at home! The Vanilla has just 7 ingredients, and the other flavors are similar. It’s for dairy-free consumers who want real dessert with organic ingredients and without any of the funny additive business.

    Perfect Consistency

This is one of the very few dairy-free ice creams that is scoopable straight from the freezer. The consistency is very creamy, perfectly rich, and dense, but just soft enough. I love the Vanilla – it will be my new go to for topping desserts. Unlike coconut ice creams, you really taste the vanilla, not coconut! My husband enjoyed the Coffee, and the Chocolate and Banana Chip are good too. The Banana has a pure banana flavor and a smattering of mini dark chocolate chips. The Chocolate has a pleasant cocoa flavor, but I think it would really shine with a fudge swirl.
