Newman-O’s Creme Filled Cookies are Sweet Vegan Sandwiches

    0
By Hannah Kaminsky on June 11, 2007 Dairy-Free Cookie & Brownie Reviews, Product Reviews

Newman-O’s look jus like classic Oreos, with bright white cream filling enclosed in two distinctive black patterned cookies. But they aren’t just vegan-friendly. They’re also made with organic ingredients and without trans fats or high fructose corn syrup. If you’re still feeling a little guilty about purchasing cookies instead of baking your own, you can justify it as a charitable contribution. Newman’s Own donates 100% of their profits to various charities worldwide.

I love the Hint-O-Mint cookies! They are so good, and I feel good about the profits going to charity. These cookies are better than the “big name” cookies. They taste more natural to me. If you like mint and chocolate, try the Hint-O-Mints. Yum. I wish I had some in the house right now!

    Enjoyed it as a sandwich

The creme filling is delightfully creamy and smooth, with a soft undertone of vanilla. But it’s intensely sweet. The cookies are very sturdy and beyond crisp, but the soften nicely when dunked in soymilk. The cocoa elements of the cookie fall a bit flat. But when the cookie and filling are enjoyed in one bite, it’s a beautiful match.

    Creme-filled delights

If you’re craving a taste of Oreo nostalgia without all of the junk, then these creme-filled delights may be worth seeking out. The super sweet, sugary filling and crunchy cookie exteriors are simply made for dunking. Thus far, we’ve only sample the Original, but they offer an assortment of flavors.
