Nooch It Cashew Grated Cheeze is a Plant-Based Take on Parmesan

Are you craving a quick and easy cheesy topper? Then Nooch It from UPrise Foods might be worth sampling. This wholesome, organic blend is made with simple ingredients, but it boasts some complex flavors. It’s similar to homemade dairy-free “grated” Parmesan – a blend of nuts, nutritional yeast, and seeds. Yet, it’s a special combination that was a bit unlike any recipe I’ve tried.

Nooch It Cashew Grated Cheeze is a Plant-Based Take on Parmesan

I have to admit, Nooch It hits all the right notes for savory, salty, and rich flavor. It might not taste exactly like Parmesan cheese, but it’s a pretty darn good alternative.

I used it mostly atop popcorn and just loved the cheesy flavor it imparted. It does have some larger bits that don’t cling perfectly to the popcorn. But it’s so delicious that I devoured every last crumb once the popcorn was finished. It’s also a great option for sprinkling on pasta dishes, rice, and veggies. The one caveat is that it doesn’t tend to melt in like Parmesan. Instead it adds flavor with a touch more texture.

If you do purchase it, I recommend getting the shaker to try first, and then ordering the larger bag to refill the shaker if you like it.

Best vegan “parm” I’ve ever had

I first tried this at the Boston Vegan & Vegetarian Food Festival a few years ago. As a former lover of dairy who is sadly allergic (not lactose intolerant) milk and eggs, this is the only vegan cheese that I like plain. I put this on spaghetti, add it to to vegan cheese puffs (like Chippeas), and even eat pinches straight while cooking. It isn’t exactly like Parmesan, but it’s the best combination of salty and umami flavors.

    Great taste

I love the taste of this seasoning. It isn’t just like Parmesan, but the cheesy flavor does the trick. It’s like grated Parmesan in texture, and doesn’t melt in. Some of the bits are also a little coarse for things like popcorn, but still good. Adds nice flavor to meals.
