Cross an all-fruit smoothie with fresh juice, and you've got these juice blends. No added sugars, not watered down, and real fruit purees. I'm sold.

Alisa Fleming ~ It was over 100 degrees out, I was parched, and ever so grateful to spot two of the new Odwalla juice blends in our refrigerator. I reached for the Carrot Apple Mango one first, chugging it without paying any mind to the label. It was richer than ordinary juice, but just as refreshing.

When I finally came up for air, I gave the label a once over. Because it was a bit filling, I was surprised that each bottle only contains 160 calories. The smoothie-meets-juice consistency comes from the little bit of fruit puree in the ingredients.

The Carrot Apple Mango flavor was equally yummy, but with a berry vibe instead of mango, naturally. Here are the ingredients for both:

Garden Organics Odwalla Juice Blend – Carrot Apple Mango: Organic carrot juice, organic apple juice, organic mango puree, organic lemon juice, and organic passionfruit juice.

Garden Organics Odwalla Juice Blend – Carrot Apple Berry: Organic carrot juice, organic apple juice, organic strawberry puree, organic lemon juice, organic beet juice, organic blackberry puree, and organic raspberry puree.

The pluses for the Garden Organics Odwalla Juice are that it’s not from concentrate, not watered down, and there are no added sweeteners. This is pure juice baby! The only minus for me, and this is a personal taste thing, is that the two flavors I tasted contain apple juice. It isn’t the first ingredient, organic carrot juice is. However, I’m not an apple juice fan, and can still taste it. That said, I still enjoyed this line of Odwalla juice, and wouldn’t hesitate to pick one up on a hot summer day.

Garden Organics Odwalla Juice Blends

The Garden Organics line of Odwalla Juice Blends comes in three flavors: Carrot Beet Ginger, Carrot Apple Berry and Carrot Apple Mango. I didn’t get my hands on the Carrot Beet Ginger (an obvious bummer since I love ginger so much more than apple!), but will be on the lookout for it. They are currently sold in Whole Foods markets across the U.S. and will be in other natural food stores and conentional grocers by the end of 2012.

Dietary Notes: By ingredients, this line of Odwalla juice is Vegan, Vegetarian, Dairy-Free, Egg-Free, Gluten-Free, Nut-Free, Peanut-Free, Soy-Free, Wheat-Free, and Sugar-Free, but see the packaging and contact the company for allergen and manufacturing “may contain” labeling.
