Pretzel Crisps have harnessed all the benefits of a chip, in a fat-free, crispy pretzel cracker. These addicting little snacks are in essence, flattened pretzels.
We love this concept! It gives them a few key qualities. First, they can rival the crispiness of a chip or cracker, while still being fat free. Two, they can easily be baked with flavors, such as garlic and “everything”, on top. Last but not least, these are perfect for dipping.
Try scooping up salsa or a good dollop of hummus with a regular pretzel. I have tried it, and can vouch that it isn’t pretty.
Like most pretzels and crackers, Pretzel Crisps are a bit high in sodium. However, their all-natural ingredients, low fat, and low sugar content help to compensate for this.
Overall, each of our many tasters liked the varieties that we tried and loved the thin crispiness. Honestly, I can’t believe no one thought of flattening the pretzel before!
Tasting Notes for Pretzel Crisps
We sampled all three initial flavors of Pretzel Crisps. But since that time, they’ve discontinued one of those flavors, and added several more. Sadly, they are no longer a dairy-free company, and now have some varieties that contain milk. But a handful of their deli-style flavors are dairy free by ingredients. These are the ones that we have sampled, thus far.
These baseline Crisps are excellent for dipping. They are topped with a generous amount of salt, which may be a problem for some, but a flavor enhancer for others.
The Everything Crisps definitely won the popularity contest. Everyone gave them two thumbs up. Although they can be used for dipping, the addition of sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dehydrated onion and garlic made these a strong stand-alone contender as well.
