Purdy’s Vegan Chocolates Treat Fans to Inspired Dairy-Free Caramels

By Alisa Fleming on April 2, 2022 Dairy-Free Chocolate Reviews, Product Reviews

We were pleasantly surprised by the full range of Purdy’s Vegan Chocolate Bars released last year, and weren’t expecting more dairy-free items from them so soon. But their chocolatiers have remained busy, drawing inspiration from the warmer climates of North America to create this indulgent line of Purdy’s Vegan Chocolates. It includes layered Sweet Georgia Browns and smoky Hawaiian Black Salt Caramels, in both dark and dairy-free mylk chocolate.

The caramel in each variety of Purdy’s vegan chocolates is cooked in a big copper kettle for a golden color, chewy texture, and rich depth in flavor. Once you buy and try these, let us know what you think by leaving your own unbiased rating and review below!

    Vegan Hawaiian Black Salt Caramels

Purdy’s took ordinary caramels to another level with a sprinkle of Hawaiian black sea salt on top. And of course, these are made dairy free! They are sold in 6-piece and 16-piece boxes.

    Vegan Sweet Georgia Browns

Their chocolatiers pour dairy-free caramel over a layer of roasted pecans, and top it with vegan mylk chocolate. They’re like classic Turtles, only better. These generously sized treats are sold in 2-packs and 8-piece boxes.

    More Allergen Notes

Purdy’s uses a dedicated vegan-only chocolate mould and packing line for the vegan chocolate bars. They actually have a dedicated vegan area for production in their factory kitchen. But as noted above, milk and other top allergens are still present in the facility. Contact them directly for details on allergen protocols.

They’ve really nailed it with these chocolates. The caramel is very rich and chewy, the salt offers complexity, and the chocolate is very smooth and delicious. We loved both the milk and dark varieties.

As a vegan – these are a wonderful addition to the market! All of the chocolates are divine but the caramels are over the top – I’ve tasted nothing like them ever before 🥹
