Rawr Bar: All Natural Dried Vegetable and Fruit Strips (DISCONTINUED)

By Alisa Fleming on September 5, 2014 Discontinued Products, Product Reviews

Rawr Bars have been discontinued. For similar snacks that are still available, try Veggie-Go Fruit and Veggie Strips.

Cute packaging, all-natural ingredients, no added sweeteners, veggies in every bite and a direct shipping rate that is unreal (in a good way) – what’s not to love about Rawr Bar?

Rawr Bars: Dried Vegetable and Fruit Strips - Super Sweet Potato and Beet-A-Peel

Each Rawr Bar contains 1/2 serving of vegetables per package and uses pure fruit purees and/or juice for sweetening. The ingredients are few and simple (music to mom’s ears) and the flavors are perfectly sweet (for little ones). Due to the flat packaging, Rawr Bar can slip into lunch boxes, backpacks and even pockets with ease and shipping is oh-so-inexpensive. Rawr Bar ships to customers for just 25 cents!

    Tasting Notes for Rawr Bar

These simple bars are currently available in 4 unique flavors, thus far we’ve tried the following…

    Super Sweet Potato

Very tender, chewy and pliable with a touch of stickiness just to make things fun! Plus, it comes with two strips per package that you get to peel apart. We really enjoyed the earthy, warm, sweet potato and applesauce taste with a noted hint of cinnamon. They use a hint of lemon juice for preserving, but there isn’t enough to overpower, it simply heightens the sweetness.

    Beet-A-Peel

This one is definitely for beet lovers. I’m a beet liker, but the strong, pungent beet flavor was just a touch too astringent for my tastes, even with the pleasant sweetness from the other two main ingredients: pear puree and orange juice. But if you like beets, you will love the pure taste of this Rawr Bar.

The Beet variety was a bit “tougher” in the leather department. I had thought it was just one strip, as the thicker mass wouldn’t peel apart. But it eventually gave way to two firm strips once I hit halfway through.

    The Facts on Rawr Bar

Certifications: Rawr Bar is labeled as gluten-free, though I didn’t note a certification on the package.

Dietary Notes: By ingredients, Rawr Bar is dairy-free / non-dairy, egg-free, gluten-free, grain-free, nut-free, peanut-free, soy-free, vegan, and vegetarian. Nonetheless, read the ingredient statement and check with the company on their manufacturing processes for all varieties if potential allergen cross-contamination is an issue for you. Processes and labeling are subject to change at any time for any company / product.
