We’ve mentioned Reddi-Wip Non-Dairy Whipped Topping quite a bit over the years. It’s a feature in our Dairy-Free & Vegan Whipped Cream Guide, and Sarah loves using it for garnish on lattes, mug cakes, pies, and more. But I forgot to post about in our product section – until now. Read on for the full details and don’t forget to leave your own rating and review below if you’ve tried this dairy-free spray “whipped cream.”
Reddi-Wip Non-Dairy Whipped Topping made with Almond or Coconut Milk
I know that many of you shy away from “non-dairy” labels, since products labeled non-dairy can contain milk. But most products that are labeled as non-dairy are truly dairy-free by ingredients, including Non-Dairy Reddi-Wip. It’s also vegan-friendly, and comes in two varieties.

Almond Milk

Is Your Reddi-Wip Canister Not Working? Make Sure You Do This …
We’ve read numerous complaints that the Reddi-Wip Non-Dairy Cans don’t work. The company “fixed” the spray design recently, but the complaints have continued. Sarah buys them, so we asked her how she gets them to work. She follows the direction exactly as written on the canister. They aren’t intuitive, so make sure you read them.
Reddi-Wip Non-Dairy Whipped Topping Instructions & Notes
- Rotate bottom 1/3 of can under warm water (not hot!) for 30 seconds. Dry can and cap.*
- Shake well 8 to 10 times before use then remove cap.
- Turn can completely upside down and press nozzle sideways with finger.
- Rinse nozzle thoroughly with warm water and replace in refrigerator.
*This step is crucial, and was not on the old canisters. Coconut cream (which is in both the coconut milk and almond milk varieties) sets up much firmer when chilled than dairy cream. If not gently warmed, it might be too solid to spray properly. But because you are warming it a touch, you also need to shake it more than traditional Reddi-Wip.

Can Stopped Working
Can stopped working after a few times of using it. It still has plenty of product left.
Total waste of money
Nozzle stopped working after only 6
Sprays then nothing!!!
Spout malfunction?
Was looking forward to something non dairy and even after following the directions, nothing. Spout malfunction? Complete waste of money.
Great product ~ terrible packaging!
I was so excited to find a non-dairy version of Reddi-wip since I can no longer consume dairy products. But after trying both the almond milk and the coconut milk versions, I became very frustrated. Even after finding the “special instructions” on the can, they both refused to dispense after 2-3 uses. Just like the old adage goes…first time, shame on you. Second time, shame on me! Obviously you are aware of the problem, so either fix it or take it off the shelves! Too expensive to throw my money out the window! By the way…I did give it one star only because it is a delicious product when working properly.
Yeah Yeah no
Why would I want something in a can that doesn’t work. So is it shake it 10 times, do a dance, pray then maybe it will come out? Or is it run the can under warm water and then turn your head around, then cream? I just want whipped cream, not instructions on how to get it.
Response from Go Dairy Free
Then buy a tub version.
Reddi Wip
It sad that Reddi Wip has yet to come up with a fix for its container/spout malfunction.. It’s clear the are aware of the issue, but yet the pricing has gone up with no solution!! I make my dogs pup cups at home and they are always disappointed when nothing comes out of a nearly full can!! Thought originally it was a one off situation but clearly this is a every single time situation.. even with the warming it under hot water!!
Waste of money
We have bought this about 6 times. Follies directions but it never works more than the first time. No more!!!
RedI whip non dairy
I was so excited to find a RedI whip non dairy cream! Tastes great! Then I proceeded to squirt it out after soaking in warm water. Just barely came out! So disappointed !!😪
Coconut Milk Reddi Wip
We love the coconut Reddi Wip, but 2 cans in a row have only gotten us a few uses out of each can. We are following the directions and the cans are still very full when they stop working. We are giving it one more try. The taste is great but the few uses we are able to get aren’t worth the price.
Great Taste
The can worked once and then wouldn’t work any more. Won’t buy it again….too expensive for the can not to work!
