Silk Almond Creamer Pours it on in 7 Dairy-Free, Soy-Free Flavors

By Alisa Fleming on August 21, 2020 Dairy-Free Creamer Product Reviews, Product Reviews

Updated September 2022! In the past few years, several dairy-free creamers have faded away, but Silk Almond Creamer seems to have a loyal following. In fact, I’ve noticed that stores sometimes have trouble keeping it in stock! But despite these challenges, they keep moving forward, and have even added several new flavors. Creme Brulee and Toasted Hazelnut have joined their indulgence flavors, and their latest seasonal varieties creep onto grocer shelves as early as late summer.

Silk Almond Creamer Now in 7 Flavors for Coffee & Recipes

I’m not a coffee drinker myself, but have taste-tested the Vanilla and Caramel straight up, and in recipes. Both are quite sweet and flavorful, with a creamier-than-almond milk finish. And they performed quite well in place of milk beverage or half and half in recipes. I used the Caramel to make this Bananas Foster Breakfast Bread Recipe, and the Vanilla to make a quick Vanilla Cream Spread to go with the bread.

I’ve included the pertinent details about Silk Almond Creamer in the information that follows. If you’ve tried any of the flavors, in coffee, tea, or recipes, leave your own rating and review below. It helps others make an informed purchasing decision.

I had to throw this new bottle away. It was sickening sweet. Not at all creamy. I total waste of money. If you like candy for coffee this is for you.

A friend found this for me as she knows I’ve been searching for a unsweetened, non dairy, non soy, delicious coffee creamer. My only other wish would be original (non flavored) creamer. I’ve always enjoyed my coffee with half and half NO sweetener. So, as much as I am pleased to see unsweetened I would prefer unflavored as well. The nutpods seem to be the only one thus far that I’ve seen. (And use)

all of the creamers are being compared to half and half and other coffee/tea creamers…

yet all of them have sweetener. it’s enough sweet to make me not buy it and continue looking for a unsweetened original plain soy creamer and an unsweetened original plain almond creamer…not everyone enjoys the taste or experience of sweetener. i do a touch…i use my own honey. i do not wish to have the company include cane sugar or any sweetener in my creamer. what’s so hard about that? i stopped buying it period. i cannot water it down enough then my tea is undrinkable and my morning tea / wake up time is ruined. i use the Silk unsweet original almond milk in all of my chia and museli mornings… please Silk those of us without a sweet tooth wish to have a nice morning as well… thanks

Actually, several of them do not have any sweetener. Please note there are three “unsweet” flavors with no sweeteners added detailed above. The packaging looks a little different, so maybe you haven’t noticed those in stores.

The Silk Almond Sweet and Creamy Creamer is perfect for coffee and for vegan baking. My only issue is that its not easy to find. Its so popular that its usually sold out at Walmart and I don’t like flavored coffee.

I mostly use the vanilla and I’ve always loved the creamy consistancy and sweet flavor. While I normally dislike pumpkin spice I decided to try the seasonal flavor while it was here and I actually really really like it. I’m hoping it comes back next PSL season as well. These also work really well with a milk frother allowing you to make your own lattes at home foam and all.

Was buying and enjoying this creamer until we realized what Hellman gum is. It’s a derivative of cheese. Now this may be a push from the government however when vegans want dairy free, changing the verbiage so vegans don’t recognize it isn’t ok. The price also shot up. We are paying over $4.00 a bottle. We are not buying this product anymore. Sorry folks, we know the government is a pain in the arse but we don’t want cow puss in our food or coffee.

Although gellan gum can be derived from lactose fermentation, this is quite rare. For dairy-free and vegan products, it is fermented on other types of sugars. This is still a dairy-free product.
