Some great dairy-free yogurts have emerged in recent years, but Silk Soymilk Yogurt was the original dairy-free “Yoplait.” It hit that sweet, creamy consistency and was instantly popular. So it isn’t surprising that every flavor of Silk Soymilk Yogurt is still around. The packaging has changed, but the contents are still the same. Nevertheless, I’m updating this post with ingredients, nutrition facts, reviews (at bottom!) and current product images with the product facts.
Silk Soymilk Yogurt Alternative was the First Dairy Alternative to Yoplait
There’s something about soy that just works with yogurt. It’s actually a shame that more soy-based yogurt alternatives haven’t lasted. It creates a perfect yogurt consistency without much fat, melds well with flavors, and boasts natural protein.
Silk Soymilk Yogurt comes in regular-sized single-serve cups, but a couple varieties are available in larger 24-ounce tubs. Unfortunately, they don’t have an unsweetened variety. The Plain has a modest amount of sugar, but it only comes in the larger tubs.

An excellent non dairy yogurt alternative
I first tried the coconut/chocolate and thought how disappointing the flavor is after hoping to see a tasty store brought non dairy yogurt option. I personally didn’t like it at all and thought I wouldn’t even bother trying any other flavor. Glad to say that I tried the vanilla and strawberry which are excellent replacement. As someone who is lactose intolerant, I love the taste of yogurt but hate what it does to my body. The soy option in the flavors I enjoy will now be my go to as a dairy free yogurt alternative.
The colour
I was taken at back when I opened the conyainer of vanilla. The image on the package gives the image of white yogurt. I wasn’t sure it was still good. The flavour is good.
Response from Go Dairy Free
Julie, I’m not sure what the package image you have looks like, but the pictures I’ve posted here are actual for what it looks like. It isn’t white, but more of a yellow-ish beige.

Pingback: Silk AlmondMilk Yogurt Review: This is More Than a Dairy Alternative
I would really like to reduce my dairy intake but there is too much sugar carbs in this.
When they get it down to Carbmaster’s 4 grams I will try these.
I just tried the Silk cultured coconut plain and vanilla flavours. Absolutely phenomenal product, smooth and silky. Coupled with some freshly made granola it’s virtually indistinguishable from low fat dairy products and I love that I can sweeten to taste. Brilliant!
Fabulous! So glad you enjoyed it, too, Vicky. Thanks for sharing your feedback.
They took the non GMO label off the plain yogurt.
Very strange. According to their website, they are still non-GMO project verified – https://silk.com/products/plain-soy-dairy-free-yogurt-alternative-24-oz
I bought some peach mango today and i just love it. Can’t wait to try other flavors. When you going to make some with almond milk?
what is the shelf life of silk yoghurt
You mean after opening? I’m not sure. I would guess a few days. You can contact Silk directly with product questions -> https://silk.com
what is the shelf life of silk yoghurt ?
I never liked yogurt but I tried the Silk and it was delicious, it doesn’t taste sour like yo plait it’s a little sweeter with a better taste. I’m going plant crazy. Thanks to Silk for making something that I can eat.
I agree Moneca, it is really tasty! Thanks for sharing your review.

I am in search of silk non dairy free yogurt in “plain” . Can’t seem to find it in any of the stores…can someone share which markets carry it?
It’s pretty new, so it might now be in stock yet. I would ask your local stores (the ones that sell Silk) if it is in the system yet. If it is, then they should be able to order it.
I love, love, love this product! In fact, one of my most popular posts from 2015 was a Tropical Smoothie Bowl which featured Silk Vanilla Dairy-Free Yogurt Alternative. So yummy!
Ooh, I think I’ve seen that awesome recipe!
I’ve seen these in the store and wondered how they were! I’m not a HUGE fan of yogurt to begin with, I only like a few flavors of greek yogurt. We are almost 100% dairy free in our home, so this naturally would be a good fit for us! I’ll have to try them!
I’ve just gotten into it in the past month, and when I eat it for breakfast I load it up with berries for a great snack!
Mmm, yes, delicious with berries!
I love the fruit flavored yogurts and usually use them as snack/sweet treat with granola because like you said – lots of sugar. I had no idea they had a plain one in a large container. So can’t wait to get my hands on that!
I know, why does sugar have to taste so darn good! 🙂 The Simply Plain is definitely a good new option for much lower sugar.
CAN WAIT TO TRY THIS YOGURTS
I LOVE SILK PRODUCTS BUT IN THE PLAIN,

That yogurt does look pretty amazing, Alisa! I appreciate your detailed and honest review as always!
Shirley
Thanks Shirley – I have fun sharing them!
I just tried it last week the strawberry flavor and I agree with you review. I really liked it although I do try to avoid soy as much as possible because of the issue with it increasing estrogen but once in a while I’m sure it’s fine for me to eat this.
What a great idea! Glad they have decided to jump into this market 🙂
I am hopeful we’ll find these locally soon. Silk is definitely the big brand in our neck of the woods!
Yes, I would think they should arrive soon. They are even at Walmart in our town.
I love their yogurt for baking too. I make a great banana muffin with their vanilla yogurt. My only complaint is the consistency varies…sometimes it’s watery-ish, and sometimes it’s perfect. Thanks for the review!
That’s interesting. I could see that being an issue from time to time though.
I’m actually a big fan of soy in dairy alternatives, as long as the soy used is whole soybeans, not a soy derivative like soy protein isolate, and organic and/or non-GMO. I’m a dairy-eater, but still like these Silk yogurts – soy just provides so much creaminess and silkiness, like regular yogurt. I’m excited they make a Simply Plain. I haven’t seen that but hope to find and try it soon!
Thanks so much for your feedback Amelia! The Simply Plain should be rolling out in stores soon. I got the chance to trial it at Natural Products Expo West in March, when it was officially released, but it reportedly has started shipping.
